Role Overview:

As a Senior SAP Vertex Functional Consultant, you will serve as the primary bridge between complex tax requirements and SAP technical execution. You will work closely with global stakeholders and internal project teams to design, configure, and deploy Vertex tax solutions that integrate flawlessly with SAP FI and SD modules. Your work will directly impact the financial integrity of our clients, ensuring that their tax determination processes are automated, compliant, and scalable in a high-volume transaction environment.

Key Responsibilities:

- Configure and implement Vertex O Series tax solutions to ensure accurate tax calculation and reporting for diverse business entities.

- Lead the end-to-end integration of Vertex Tax Links with SAP FI and SD modules to streamline cross-functional financial workflows.

- Execute VAT implementation projects by mapping local tax requirements to SAP system logic, ensuring adherence to regional regulatory standards.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex tax determination issues, providing technical guidance to project teams to minimize downtime and operational risk.

- Conduct workshops with client stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into functional specifications for tax engine configuration.

- Manage the testing lifecycle, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing, to validate the accuracy of tax calculations before go-live.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in SAP Vertex and Vertex Tax Links, with a deep understanding of how these tools interface with SAP ECC or S/4HANA environments.

- Strong functional proficiency in SAP FI and SAP SD modules, specifically regarding their interaction with external tax engines.

- Proven ability to manage VAT implementation projects, including the configuration of tax codes, tax jurisdiction codes, and tax reporting requirements.

- Excellent analytical skills to interpret complex tax laws and translate them into functional system configurations.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical tax concepts to non-technical stakeholders and business leaders.

- A minimum of 5 - 10 years of professional experience in SAP functional consulting, with a focus on tax technology.

- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment at our Bangalore office, collaborating with distributed teams to meet project milestones.
