Role Overview :

We are seeking a Senior SAP BW Consultant to stabilize, optimize, and modernize SAP BW environment integrated with SAP ECC across 40+ countries.

The ideal candidate must have strong experience in:

- BW performance tuning

- Data model restructuring

- Extractor optimization

- Process chain stabilization

- Large-volume data handling

- Executive analytics using Power BI

This is not a pure development role - it requires architectural thinking and system improvement capability.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Legacy System Assessment & Optimization (Critical)

- Analyze and optimize :

- Long-running queries

- Poorly designed InfoCubes / DSOs

- Redundant InfoObjects

- Excessive aggregates / indexes

- Identify and eliminate :

- Data redundancy

- Unused objects

- Overlapping data flows

- Optimize :

- Transformations & routines

- Start/End/Expert routines

- ABAP-based transformations

- Perform housekeeping & data archiving strategy

2. ECC Extractor & Data Flow Optimization

- Tune LO Cockpit extractors (SD/MM/PP)

- Optimize FI/CO & COPA extractors

- Improve delta mechanisms

- Reduce load failures and data inconsistencies

- Improve reconciliation processes between ECC and BW

- Fix long-running DTPs & data loads

Performance Tuning :

- Query optimization (BEx level)

- Index optimization

- Partitioning strategies

- Aggregate design improvements

- HANA push-down logic (if BW on HANA)

- Reduce runtime of month-end reporting cycles

Power BI Modernization Layer :

- Build executive dashboards on top of BW

- Redesign reporting layer to reduce BEx dependency

- Create :

- Optimized semantic models

- DAX calculations

- RLS frameworks

- Performance tuning of large datasets

- Replace heavy operational reports with modern analytics views

Governance & Architecture :

- Lead BW cleanup strategy

- Propose data model simplification roadmap

- Define KPI harmonization standards

- Coordinate with global IT & regional finance teams

- Mentor junior BW developers

Required Skills :

- 9-14 years SAP BW experience

- Strong hands-on experience in BW 7.x legacy systems

- Deep understanding of:

o InfoCubes

o DSOs

o MultiProviders

o Process Chains

- Strong ABAP routine debugging knowledge

- Proven BW performance tuning experience

- Strong Power BI expertise (DAX, modeling, performance tuning)

- Experience in large multi-country SAP landscapes

Highly Preferred

- Experience in global chemical/process industry

- Experience leading BW stabilization projects

- Experience reducing report runtime by measurable % improvement

Educational Qualification

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering / IT / Computer Science

- SAP BW Certification preferred

- Microsoft Power BI Certification preferred
