We are looking for skilled SAP professionals to join a global procurement engineering team focused on building and enhancing next-generation enterprise procurement applications.

The team works on cloud-native solutions using SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP), Java, and modern frontend technologies. The engineering environment emphasizes scalable architecture, high-quality software development, enterprise integrations, and AI-enabled business workflows.

Role Overview

As part of the engineering team, you will design, develop, enhance, and maintain scalable procurement applications using Java, SAP CAP, and SAP BTP.

You will contribute to full-stack development, backend service implementation, cloud deployments, and enterprise integrations. Candidates with exposure to Generative AI, LLMs, RAG pipelines, and AI agent development will have an additional advantage.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and SAP CAP Java.

- Build backend services using SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP), CDS modeling, and OData V4 APIs.

- Develop and deploy cloud-native applications on SAP BTP using Cloud Foundry and/or Kyma runtimes.

- Work with SAP HANA Cloud for data persistence, data modeling, and application integration.

- Develop responsive enterprise interfaces using SAPUI5, SAP Fiori, and Fiori Elements.

- Build and integrate REST APIs, OData services, and third-party application interfaces.

- Implement business logic, validations, custom actions, event handlers, and asynchronous processing.

- Collaborate with architects, product specialists, and globally distributed engineering teams.

- Contribute to application architecture, technical design discussions, code reviews, and engineering best practices.

- Ensure application quality through automated testing, performance optimization, and secure development practices.

- Participate in CI/CD implementation, deployment activities, monitoring, and production troubleshooting.

- Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance based on experience and role level.

Mandatory Technical Skills

1. Java & Backend Development:

- Strong hands-on experience in Java.

- Spring Boot and enterprise application development.

- Microservices architecture.

2. SAP CAP Java:

- Practical experience with SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP).

- CAP Java service development.

- Validations, determinations, and transaction handling.

- External service consumption and application integrations.

3. SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP):

- Hands-on experience with SAP BTP architecture and services.

- SAP HANA Cloud integration.

- SAP Destination and Connectivity services.

- Authentication and authorization concepts.

- Understanding of cloud-native architecture and application deployment.

4. SAPUI5 / SAP Fiori:

- Hands-on experience with SAPUI5 and SAP Fiori.

- Fiori Elements and frontend application development.

- JavaScript / TypeScript.

- HTML5 and CSS.

- OData service consumption and UI annotations.

- Integration of frontend applications with CAP Java backend services.

5. AI & Emerging Technology:

- Understanding of Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs).

- Prompt engineering and structured outputs.

- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).

- Embeddings and vector databases.

- AI agent development and tool/function calling.

- Integration of AI services with Java and SAP CAP applications.

- Human-in-the-loop workflows and AI evaluation.

6. Engineering Quality & DevOps:

- Git and version control.

- Docker and containerization.

Experience Expectations by Level

Technical Consultant:

- Strong hands-on Java and SAP CAP Java development.

- Good understanding of SAP BTP and SAPUI5/Fiori.

- Ability to independently develop and integrate application components.

Senior Software Engineer:

- Strong end-to-end development experience across CAP Java, BTP, and Fiori.

- Experience in application design, integrations, testing, and deployments.

- Ability to take ownership of technical deliverables.

Technical Lead:

- Strong hands-on development expertise with SAP technologies.

- Experience in solution design, architecture, and technical decision-making.

- Ability to lead development activities, conduct code reviews, and mentor engineers.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

- Minimum 5 years of relevant software development experience.

- Strong Java development fundamentals.

- Practical experience with SAP CAP Java and SAP BTP.

- Exposure to Cloud Foundry or Kyma and SAP HANA Cloud.
