Senior SAP ABAP Consultant - Support & Implementation

Role Summary :

We are looking for an experienced SAP ABAP Consultant with strong expertise in ABAP 7.4+, SAP S/4HANA, OData, and advanced ABAP programming. The candidate will contribute to SAP implementation and support projects, develop technical solutions for complex business requirements, and collaborate with functional teams, clients, and onsite stakeholders.

The role requires handson technical expertise, sound problemsolving skills, ownership of technical deliverables, and the ability to support project delivery, application maintenance, and service management activities.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain SAP applications using ABAP 7.4+ coding standards.

- Work extensively with SAP S/4HANA and develop OData services using SAP NetWeaver Gateway.

- Analyse business and functional requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.

- Prepare technical design documents (TDDs), technical specifications, unit test plans, and supporting documentation.

- Participate in SAP ABAP implementation, enhancement, rollout, and application support projects.

- Develop and maintain custom SAP objects, reports, interfaces, forms, and enhancements.

- Perform unit testing, support integration testing, troubleshoot defects, and resolve technical issues.

- Provide user support and investigate application incidents to ensure timely resolution.

- Manage incidents, changes, and problems in accordance with defined SLAs and structured ITIL processes.

- Review tickets, technical deliverables, source code, and documentation to ensure quality and adherence to development standards.

- Coordinate with onsite teams, functional consultants, and client stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issues.

- Provide regular daily and weekly project status updates, highlighting progress, dependencies, risks, and pending activities.

- Support escalations, risk identification, rootcause analysis, and resolution planning.

- Contribute to proofofconcept (POC) and proofofvalue (POV) initiatives involving emerging technologies such as AI and blockchain.

- Follow established SAP development practices and contribute to continuous improvement in solution quality and delivery efficiency.

Preferred Skills :

- Exposure to SAP UI5 and SAP Fiori development, implementation, and configuration.

- Knowledge of SAP HANA and Core Data Services (CDS) Views.

- Familiarity with the SAP BOPF framework.

- ITIL 4 certification is an added advantage.

Required Candidate Profile :

- 7 - 16 years of relevant professional experience in SAP ABAP development.

- Strong handson technical expertise in ABAP 7.4+, SAP S/4HANA, and OData.

- Ability to independently analyse requirements, develop technical solutions, and troubleshoot complex issues.

- Experience working with SAP implementation and support teams in enterprise environments.

- Strong analytical, debugging, and problemsolving abilities.

- Effective communication and coordination skills for working with clients, onsite teams, and crossfunctional stakeholders.

- Ability to manage multiple technical deliverables, follow project timelines, and maintain development quality.

- Willingness to participate in technical discussions, project reviews, escalations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
