Rootstock is a Salesforce-focused ERP company building enterprise solutions on the Salesforce platform. As Rootstock expands its engineering presence in India, the company is establishing its India office and is looking for experienced Salesforce Developers who can work closely with both India and US teams.

About the Role :

We are looking for a Senior Salesforce Developer with strong full-stack Salesforce development experience and a solid understanding of application architecture. This is a hands-on Individual Contributor (IC) role. You will be expected to write and review production-quality code, contribute to system design, troubleshoot complex technical problems, and work closely with globally distributed teams. Candidates with strong Salesforce architecture experience who are comfortable remaining in a hands-on IC role are encouraged to apply.

Must Haves :

- 810 years of overall experience; 10 years maximum

- Strong experience as a Salesforce Full-Stack Developer

- Extensive hands-on experience with : Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, SOQL, Salesforce integrations, and Flows

- Strong programming fundamentals and application development experience

- JavaScript experience is strongly preferred

- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills across the Salesforce platform

- Good understanding of Salesforce architecture and design patterns

- Experience designing scalable and maintainable Salesforce solutions

- Strong understanding of Salesforce platform limitations and governor limits

- Experience with CI/CD and Agile/Scrum methodologies

- Strong understanding of clean code, testing and maintainable development practices

- Salesforce certification is important

- Salesforce Architecture certifications are a strong plus

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to communicate clearly with US-based stakeholders and engineering teams

- Ability to hold a technical conversation and explain complex concepts in a simple, structured manner

- 30-day notice period or less

What You'll Be Doing :

1. Salesforce Development :

- Design, develop and maintain Salesforce applications using Apex, LWC, Visualforce, Flows and integrations.

- Build reliable and scalable solutions while working within Salesforce platform constraints.

- Write clean, maintainable and extensible code following Salesforce best practices.

2. Architecture & System Design :

- Design moderately complex features and contribute to product-level architecture.

- Apply appropriate architectural and design patterns to Salesforce solutions.

- Evaluate technical trade-offs around scalability, performance and reliability.

- Identify hidden requirements and potential system-level challenges.

- Contribute to architectural decisions while remaining hands-on as an IC.

3. Troubleshooting & Optimization :

- Diagnose complex Salesforce issues and identify root causes.

- Troubleshoot performance, integration and platform-related problems.

- Implement solutions that improve system stability, performance and maintainability.

4. Collaboration :

- Work closely with product owners, engineers, stakeholders and teams across India and the US.

- Participate in technical discussions and contribute to system-level decisions.

- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Work effectively with distributed teams across different time zones.

5. Code Quality & Technical Practices :

- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback.

- Follow TDD, clean-code principles and Salesforce development best practices.

- Work with CI/CD pipelines for testing and deployment.

- Create and maintain technical documentation.

- Ensure solutions are maintainable, extensible and aligned with architectural standards.

6. Technical Leadership :

- Provide technical guidance to peers where required.

- Mentor team members and share knowledge around Salesforce development and architecture.

- Conduct or contribute to knowledge-sharing sessions.

- Help improve engineering practices and overall code quality.

Communication Is Important :

This role involves regular interaction with US-based stakeholders and engineering teams, so communication is a major part of the role. We're looking for someone who can :

- Hold a clear and confident technical conversation

- Explain complex technical concepts in simple language

- Structure their thoughts clearly

- Communicate with the right level of detail

- Understand and articulate technical requirements

- Discuss architectural decisions clearly

- Collaborate effectively with global teams

- Communicate comfortably with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

- Strong technical skills alone won't be enough if communication is a weakness.

Good to Have :

- Salesforce Platform Developer I / II certification

- Salesforce JavaScript certification

- Salesforce Architecture certifications

- Java experience

- Strong JavaScript development experience

- Manufacturing or supply-chain domain experience

- Experience working on cross-functional initiatives

- Experience contributing to product-level architecture

- Experience working with globally distributed engineering teams

Important Candidate Criteria :

- Product-based company experience is strongly preferred.

- Candidates from services companies may be considered based on the quality and depth of their experience.

- Candidates with strong Salesforce architecture experience who are comfortable with a hands-on IC role are welcome.

- Bengaluru-based candidates are preferred.

- Strong Salesforce coding ability is mandatory.

- JavaScript experience is preferred.

- Strong communication skills are mandatory.

Work Location :

- The office is approximately 2 minutes from the metro station.
