Role Overview :

As a Senior Rotoscope Artist, you will serve as a cornerstone of our visual effects pipeline, transforming raw footage into high-fidelity assets ready for complex compositing. Your day-to-day involves managing intricate rotoscoping tasks for high-end feature films and episodic content, ensuring that every frame meets the highest industry standards for precision and motion accuracy.

You will collaborate closely with compositing leads, VFX supervisors, and production teams to troubleshoot technical challenges and maintain visual consistency across large-scale projects. By delivering flawless mattes and clean extractions, you directly influence the final aesthetic quality of our visual storytelling, ensuring that our output remains competitive in a global market and meets the rigorous demands of our premium clientele.

Key Responsibilities :

- Execute complex rotoscoping tasks using industry-standard tools to ensure seamless integration of foreground elements into diverse digital environments.

- Mentor junior artists by providing technical guidance and quality control reviews, elevating the overall output quality of the rotoscoping department.

- Collaborate with the 3D and compositing teams to align matte edges and tracking data, ensuring that technical specifications are met for final delivery.

- Manage high-volume shot pipelines under tight production deadlines, balancing speed with the extreme precision required for feature-film quality work.

- Troubleshoot technical issues related to motion blur, depth of field, and complex occlusions to minimize rework and optimize the post-production workflow.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrate mastery in advanced rotoscoping techniques using Nuke, Silhouette, and Mocha, with a proven ability to handle complex organic shapes and motion.

- Exhibit deep technical proficiency in After Effects and Premiere Pro for plate preparation, sequence assembly, and preliminary compositing tasks.

- Apply expert knowledge of 3D camera tracking and projection workflows to ensure that mattes remain locked to the plate throughout dynamic camera movements.

- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to translate creative feedback into technical adjustments, maintaining a collaborative and solution-oriented mindset.

- Adapt seamlessly to a distributed work environment, maintaining high productivity and clear communication while working remotely across multiple locations in India.

- Possess 8 to 12 years of professional experience in a high-end VFX studio environment, demonstrating a track record of delivering complex shots for major productions.
