About the Role :

We're looking for a highly experienced Senior Regulatory Reporting Data Analyst to join the IT Department's Data Lake team at a leading bank.

In this critical role, you'll be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of our regulatory reporting.

You'll leverage your strong background in regulatory data management, with hands-on expertise in sourcing, validating, and analyzing data for RBI and other statutory reports.

This position demands close collaboration with our compliance, reporting, and technology teams to maintain adherence to all regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities :

- Regulatory Data Management : Lead the sourcing, extraction, validation, and analysis of large datasets specifically for RBI and other statutory regulatory reports.

- RBI Guideline Expertise : Apply a deep and comprehensive understanding of RBI guidelines and regulatory data requirements to all data-related activities, ensuring full compliance.

- Data Integrity & Quality : Implement and maintain robust data validation processes to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of data used for regulatory reporting.

- Data Lake/Warehouse Operations : Work extensively within data lake/warehouse environments, contributing to and optimizing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for regulatory data.

- Technical Collaboration : Collaborate closely with IT, compliance, and reporting teams to understand evolving regulatory needs, troubleshoot data issues, and implement effective data solutions.

- Query & Analysis : Develop and execute complex SQL queries for data extraction, analysis, and reconciliation, supporting various reporting needs.

- Banking Domain Knowledge : Apply familiarity with banking products, general ledger systems, and core banking data structures to effectively navigate and interpret financial data.

- Problem Solving : Identify and resolve data discrepancies and anomalies, proactively suggesting and implementing improvements to data quality and reporting processes.

- Documentation : Maintain comprehensive documentation of data sources, data lineage, validation rules, and reporting logic.

Qualifications :

- Experience : 7-12 years of hands-on experience in data analysis, with a significant focus on regulatory reporting within the banking sector.

Required Skills :

- Regulatory Knowledge : Deep and proven understanding of RBI guidelines, circulars, and all relevant regulatory data requirements for banking institutions.

- SQL Proficiency : Expert-level proficiency in SQL for complex data querying, manipulation, and analysis.

- Data Warehousing : Solid experience with data lake/warehouse environments, including a strong understanding of data modeling and architecture principles.

- ETL Processes : Hands-on experience with ETL processes and tools, with the ability to optimize data pipelines for regulatory reporting.

- Banking Domain : Strong familiarity with various banking products (e.g., loans, deposits, trade finance), general ledger systems, and core banking data structures.

- Analytical Skills : Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.

- Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Desired Skills (Plus) :

- Big Data Technologies : Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, or similar distributed computing frameworks.

- Reporting Tools : Experience with business intelligence or reporting tools for dashboard creation and report generation
