Job Overview : We are seeking an experienced Senior PostgreSQL Database Administrator to join our dynamic team in Mumbai. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing PostgreSQL databases within the banking sector, demonstrating a deep understanding of database architecture, performance tuning, and data security.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, implement, and maintain PostgreSQL databases to support banking applications.

- Monitor database performance and optimize queries to enhance efficiency.

- Manage data replication, backup, and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability.

- Collaborate with development teams to design and optimize database schemas and workflows.

- Implement and maintain security measures to protect sensitive financial data.

- Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolutions.

- Participate in capacity planning and database scaling efforts.

- Stay up-to-date with PostgreSQL advancements and industry best practices.

Requirements :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- 3+ years of experience as a PostgreSQL DBA, preferably in the banking or financial services domain.

- Strong proficiency in SQL and database performance tuning.

- Experience with database migration, upgrades, and patch management.

- Knowledge of high availability solutions (e.g., clustering, replication).

- Familiarity with database monitoring tools and performance analysis.

- Understanding of regulatory requirements and data protection standards in banking.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications :

- PostgreSQL certification.

- Experience with cloud database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure).

- Knowledge of other databases (e.g., MySQL, Oracle) is a plus.
