Senior Mobile Engineer

Description :

We are looking for a Senior Mobile Engineer to join our mobile team building applications that power logistics operations for enterprises worldwide. Our mobile apps are used daily by over 200,000 drivers and field agents across 30+ countries, making reliability, offline capability, and performance absolutely critical.

You'll work on challenging B2B problems at a serious scale (6M+ shipments/day) that require thoughtful architecture, not just feature building. As we expand our AI capabilities, including generative UI for dynamic interfaces and deep integration with our Agentic AI platform, you'll be at the forefront of building intelligent, adaptive mobile experiences. We need engineers who think from first principles, take ownership, and care deeply about the quality of what they ship.

Responsibilities :

- Build and maintain robust, scalable mobile applications used by 200,000+ drivers and field agents across global logistics operations.

- Implement server-driven UI and generative UI components enabling dynamic, AI-powered workflows that adapt without app updates.

- Integrate AI capabilities into mobile experiences, from intelligent suggestions to AI-driven automation powered by Shipsy's Agentic AI platform.

- Own features end-to-end : from technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring.

- Build offline-first functionality with reliable local storage, background sync, and conflict resolution for challenging field conditions.

- Collaborate with backend teams on API design and mobile-backend contracts to ensure optimal mobile experience.

- Write clean, testable, maintainable code following established architecture patterns and coding standards.

- Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architecture reviews.

- Debug and resolve complex issues in production, including crashes, performance bottlenecks, and edge cases across diverse device ecosystems.

- Contribute to mobile platform improvements: shared components, tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and testing infrastructure.

- Embrace AI-powered development using tools like Cursor and spec-driven workflows to accelerate development while maintaining quality.

Requirements :

- 4+ years of hands-on mobile development experience (iOS with Swift or Android with Kotlin).

- Strong understanding of mobile fundamentals : UI frameworks, lifecycle management, threading, memory management, and networking.

- Experience implementing server-driven UI or dynamic/configurable UI systems Generative UI experience is a plus.

- Experience with offline-first architectures : local databases (Room/CoreData/SQLite), background processing, and data synchronization.

- Interest in or experience with AI/ML integration in mobile apps, on-device inference, AI-powered features, or working with AI-driven backends.

- Solid understanding of software engineering principles: SOLID, design patterns, and clean architecture.

- Experience with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.

- First-principles problem approaches problems incrementally rather than overcomplicating solutions.

- Strong debugging skills and ability to diagnose issues across the mobile stack.

- Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

- Experience in B2B applications, logistics, supply chain, or field services is a plus.
