Role Overview :

As a Senior Manager - Azure FinOps, you will be at the forefront of optimizing cloud spending and driving financial accountability within our Azure environment. Your day-to-day will involve analyzing cloud usage patterns, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and implementing FinOps best practices. You will collaborate closely with engineering teams, finance, and vendor management to ensure efficient resource allocation and adherence to budget. This role directly impacts the company's bottom line by reducing unnecessary cloud expenditure and enabling data-driven decision-making related to cloud investments.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop and implement a comprehensive Azure FinOps strategy to optimize cloud spending across the organization.

- Analyze Azure cost data and usage patterns to identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements for various business units.

- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement cost-optimization strategies, such as right-sizing instances, leveraging reserved instances, and automating resource provisioning.

- Establish and maintain cloud cost monitoring and reporting dashboards to provide visibility into cloud spending trends for stakeholders.

- Manage relationships with Azure vendors to negotiate pricing and ensure optimal contract terms for the organization.

- Lead cross-functional projects to implement FinOps best practices and drive a culture of cloud cost awareness.

- Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on FinOps principles and best practices.

- Forecast future cloud spending based on anticipated business needs and usage patterns to support budget planning.

Required Skillset :

- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute cloud cost optimization strategies, resulting in significant cost savings.

- Proven expertise in analyzing cloud cost data, identifying trends, and providing actionable recommendations.

- Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver results on time and within budget.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Deep understanding of Azure cloud services, pricing models, and cost management tools.

- Experience in vendor management, including negotiating contracts and managing relationships with cloud providers.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.

- 12-17 years of relevant experience.
