Senior Generative AI/LLM Engineer

Description : We are seeking an experienced Senior GenAI / LLM Engineer with strong Python expertise to design, develop, and scale Generative AI (GenAI) solutions, including LLM-based APIs and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems.

The role sits within the Regional Digital Transformation & AI Delivery Team and is responsible for leading the technical design, development, deployment, and governance of both existing and new GenAI initiatives. You will work closely with stakeholders, guide development teams, and ensure best practices, scalability, and compliance across AI solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

AI / GenAI Development & Technical Leadership :

- Lead the design and development of LLM-powered applications, APIs, and RAG-based systems.

- Architect and scale enterprise-grade GenAI solutions using Python and modern AI/ML stacks.

- Provide technical leadership for ongoing AI initiatives and mentor development teams.

- Evaluate and benchmark Large Language Models (e.g., GPT, LLaMA, etc.) from leading vendors.

- Lead and scale AI-driven E-commerce use cases such as Smart Search leveraging NLP and GenAI.

Hands-on Prototyping & Delivery :

- Rapidly prototype proofs of concept (POCs) using Python, LLM frameworks, and vector databases.

- Own initiatives end-to-end, from idea validation to production deployment.

- Translate business requirements into functional and technical designs, workflows, and architectures.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on process design, testing, training, and support models.

Platform, Cloud & DevOps :

- Develop and maintain REST APIs using frameworks such as Django, Spring Boot, or Express.js.

- Implement AI solutions on cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).

- Apply DevSecOps, MLOps, and LLMOps practices using :

1. CI/CD tools (Jenkins)

2. Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

3. Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)

- Design and manage modern data platforms using PostgreSQL, NoSQL databases, and vector stores (e.g., ChromaDB).

Governance, Security & Compliance :

- Ensure adherence to AI governance frameworks, policies, and best practices.

- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to AI deployments.

- Implement security controls to protect data, models, and AI services.

- Monitor compliance with client security and governance standards.

Advisory, Communication & Enablement :

- Identify and promote innovative AI and GenAI use cases across the organization.

- Advise stakeholders on AI technologies, architectures, and best practices.

- Communicate complex AI concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

- Develop and deliver training programs to upskill teams on AI and GenAI technologies.

- Foster a knowledge-sharing culture and AI community of practice.

Required Skills & Experience

Experience & Education :

- Minimum 10+ years of experience in the IT industry.

- 5+ years of expert-level experience in Python development.

- Bachelors degree in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related fields (preferred).

- Professional certifications in Azure, AI, or Data Science (preferred).

Technical Expertise :

- Deep knowledge of AI and GenAI technologies, including :

1. Machine Learning, Deep Learning, NLP, and Generative Models

2. Agentic AI systems

- Strong hands-on experience with LLMs and ecosystems :

1. GPT, LLaMA, LangChain, Hugging Face

2. Vector databases (e.g., ChromaDB)

- Strong experience in Java (Spring Boot, Hibernate).

- Expertise in REST API development and microservices architecture.

- Experience with data analysis, data engineering, and statistical modeling.

- Strong knowledge of modern data platforms, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases.

- Familiarity with Redis and distributed system design.
