About the Role :

We are looking for a highly execution-oriented Senior Engineering Manager to lead engineering teams building and operating critical retail and commerce platforms.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in retail-tech, omni-channel commerce, or supply-chain-driven organizations, with a proven ability to deliver complex technology initiatives at scale.

This role requires a hands-on engineering leader who can drive execution, ensure operational excellence, and collaborate effectively across business, product, operations, and technology teams.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead multiple engineering pods and drive end-to-end delivery of business-critical initiatives.

- Own the architecture, scalability, reliability, and performance of commerce and retail technology platforms.

- Manage and optimize integrated ecosystems involving :

1. Order Management Systems (OMS)

2. Point of Sale (POS)

3. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)

4. Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)

- Drive engineering excellence across omni-channel retail operations.

- Establish strong production incident management processes and foster a culture of operational excellence.

- Partner closely with Product, Supply Chain, Retail Operations, and Business stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.

- Ensure high availability, observability, reliability, and performance of distributed systems.

- Lead architectural decisions involving integrations, asynchronous processing, event-driven systems, and platform scalability.

- Mentor engineering managers and senior engineers while building high-performing teams.

- Navigate ambiguity and drive execution in a fast-paced growth environment.

Required Skills & Experience :

Technical Expertise :

- Strong hands-on experience with :

1. Distributed systems

2. System integrations and APIs

3. Event-driven and asynchronous architectures

4. Observability, monitoring, and alerting

5. Reliability engineering and production operations

- Deep understanding of large-scale commerce and retail technology ecosystems.

- Experience managing complex platform dependencies across multiple systems and teams.

Leadership & Execution :

- Proven ability to lead multiple engineering teams or pods simultaneously.

- Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills.

- Demonstrated success in driving delivery and execution in high-growth environments.

- Strong ownership mindset with a focus on outcomes and business impact.

- Experience handling production incidents, crisis management, and operational governance.

Ideal Candidate Profile :

- 8 to 12 years of overall software engineering experience.

- 3 to 5 years of experience managing engineering teams, pods, or engineering managers.

- Strong technical foundation with the ability to dive deep when required.

- Execution-driven leader who thrives in fast-moving environments.

- High ownership, bias for action, and strong problem-solving capabilities.

- Preferably has scaled systems and teams in omni-channel commerce or supply-chain-intensive businesses
