Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Duck Creek Billing Senior Engineer to join a client engagement through SkillRev's staff augmentation practice. In this role you will serve as a senior technical contributor on Duck Creek Billing implementations, delivering high-quality billing solutions for P&C insurance carriers within a collaborative, cross-functional team.

You will partner closely with client architects, business analysts, and product owners to translate complex billing requirements into robust Duck Creek configurations and custom extensions. This is a deeply hands-on role strong delivery, sound architecture instincts, and the ability to guide peers informally are all expected.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead end-to-end Duck Creek Billing implementation and configuration, including bill plans, payment plans, direct bill, agency bill, and EFT processing.

- Design and develop DCB extensions using Duck Creek's extensibility framework (XML configuration, XSLT, and C# custom components).

- Act as a go-to resource for complex billing scenarios including retrospective billing, installment plans, and mid-term endorsement adjustments.

- Architect integrations between Duck Creek Billing and external systems (payment gateways, general ledger, policy administration, document generation).

- Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and ensure solutions align with Duck Creek best practices and client architecture guidelines.

- Collaborate with and informally guide junior developers on Duck Creek platform capabilities and constraints.

- Collaborate with QA on test strategy, lead UAT support, and manage defect triage for billing-related issues.

- Contribute to sprint planning, effort estimation, and technical risk identification in an Agile/Scrum delivery model.

- Produce and maintain technical documentation including solution design documents, integration specs, and runbooks.

Required Qualifications:

- 5+ years of hands-on Duck Creek Billing implementation experience across multiple full-lifecycle projects.

- Strong command of Duck Creek configuration layers: base configuration, product configuration, and custom extensions.

- Proficiency in C#/.NET for DCB custom component development.

- Deep understanding of P&C insurance billing concepts: premium billing, agency vs. direct bill, cancellation/reinstatement, non-pay workflows, and audit billing.

- Experience with Duck Creek Studio and the Duck Creek platform architecture (OnDemand preferred).

- Proven ability to operate effectively within Agile teams and contribute to sprint ceremonies.

- Strong SQL skills for data analysis, reporting queries, and database troubleshooting.

- Experience integrating Duck Creek Billing with third-party payment processors (e.g., Stripe, Paymentus, ACI) and GL systems.

- Excellent communication skills able to translate technical constraints to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Duck Creek Certified Professional (Billing track) or equivalent demonstrated expertise.

- Experience with Duck Creek Policy or Claims in addition to Billing.

- Familiarity with Duck Creek OnDemand (SaaS) deployment model and cloud infrastructure on Azure.

- Prior experience in a staff augmentation or consulting delivery model.

- Exposure to modern DevOps practices: CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and containerization.

- Background in large carrier or MGA environments with high-volume billing processing requirements.
