Job Description

MongoDB Database Administrator / NoSQL Expert

We are seeking a skilled and experienced MongoDB Database Administrator / NoSQL Expert to join our team. This role is critical for managing high-performance NoSQL environments and supporting data reliability, scalability, and performance in production.

The ideal candidate must have strong expertise in MongoDB along with working knowledge or experience in at least one of the following databases : Cassandra, SQL, or PostgreSQL.

Key Responsibilities :

MongoDB Administration :


- Hands-on experience with managing and administering MongoDB databases in production environments.

- Strong knowledge of database internals including replication, sharding, and indexing strategies.

- Experience in performing export/import operations, backups, and restores.

Performance Optimization :

- Experience in identifying and resolving performance issues.

- Tuning database parameters and queries for optimal performance.

Replication & High Availability :

- In-depth understanding of MongoDB replication mechanisms (Replica Sets).

- Experience with monitoring and maintaining high availability setups.

Indexing Strategies :


- Knowledge of various indexing options in MongoDB to optimize query performance.


Secondary DB Knowledge :


- Hands-on or working knowledge in Cassandra, SQL, or PostgreSQL is a strong advantage.

Mandatory Requirements :


- Candidates must have experience with MongoDB and should clearly highlight this in their resume.

- Proficiency in replication, indexing, and export/import operations is a must.

- Candidates without these clearly mentioned or highlighted will not be considered.

Preferred Qualifications :


- Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Ops Manager, Prometheus, Grafana).

- Exposure to NoSQL concepts, data modeling, and schema design.

- Ability to troubleshoot issues independently and provide root cause analysis.
