SG IT is looking for a Senior Data Engineer who can lead the design, development, and stability of enterprise-scale data platforms. This is a critical onsite role in Auckland, ideal for professionals who enjoy ownership, leadership, and working with modern data technologies in a fast-paced environment.

Must-Have Skills & Expertise :

- Strong experience in Data Engineering, Data Modeling & ETL pipelines

- Hands-on expertise with Teradata, Snowflake, dbt (Core & Cloud), Airflow

- Experience with Azure Blob, Fivetran, BitBucket, Python, Rclone

- Proficiency in Python scripting for data ingestion and transformation

- Experience in incident, problem & change management (L2/L3 support)

- Agile delivery experience with tools like Jira

- Strong stakeholder communication and leadership skills

- Ability to mentor junior engineers and lead technical discussions

- Experience working with Data Governance, Automation Engineers & Business Stakeholders

Good-to-Have :

- Knowledge of Retail business processes

- Exposure to automation tools such as Blue Prism or Power Automate

- Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead delivery and lifecycle management of data engineering platforms

- Design, build, and maintain data models, pipelines, and integrations

- Provide L2 & L3 production support, ensuring platform stability

- Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes

- Manage enhancements end-to-end: requirements - deployment

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors

- Ensure compliance with governance and change management standards

- Track progress and effort using Jira or equivalent tools
