Senior Data Architect - Azure Databricks

Role Overview :

We are building a Modern Data Platform & AI Engineering practice focused on Azure + Databricks lakehouse architecture. The Senior Data Architect will act as the technical backbone of the practice, responsible for architecture design, delivery governance, engineering standards, and mentoring data engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design end-to-end modern data platform architectures on Azure.

- Implement Databricks-based lakehouse solutions using Delta Lake and medallion architecture.

- Define ingestion patterns (batch and streaming) and performance optimization strategies.

- Lead and mentor 5 to 15 member data engineering pods.

- Conduct architecture reviews and enforce engineering standards (CI/CD, Git workflows).

- Support pre-sales solutioning and participate in client technical discussions.

- Establish reusable accelerators and internal best practices.

Technical Must-Haves :

- Strong expertise in Azure Data Platform (ADF, ADLS Gen2, IAM, networking basics).

- Hands-on Databricks experience (Delta Lake, PySpark, performance tuning).

- Advanced Python and SQL proficiency.

- Experience with CI/CD and DevOps practices for data pipelines.

- Understanding of data modeling (dimensional and lakehouse patterns).

Preferred Skills :

- Exposure to dbt, Airflow, or orchestration frameworks.

- Basic knowledge of ML pipelines or feature stores.

- Cost optimization experience in Azure DatabrickRole & responsibilities
