Senior Backend Engineer - ATG eCommerce

Job Description :

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer with 6+ years of experience in Java, ATG Commerce, and Microservices-based architectures. The ideal candidate will have strong hands on development skills, deep understanding of large-scale ecommerce platforms, and the ability to design, build, and optimize distributed systems.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop, enhance, and maintain backend services using Java and ATG (Oracle Commerce).

- Design and implement microservices with high performance, scalability, and resilience.

- Build RESTful services, integrations, and complex backend workflows for enterprise commerce systems.

- Participate in solution design, code reviews, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

- Collaborate closely with architects, frontend teams, QA, DevOps, and product owners to deliver high quality features.

- Ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and secure development guidelines.

- Work in Agile/Scrum teams, contributing to sprint planning, estimations, and delivery commitments.

Required Skills :

- 6+ years of professional experience in backend development.

- Strong expertise in Java / J2EE.

- Hands on experience with ATG/Oracle Commerce modules (BCC, CSC, DPS, DSC, Pricing, Checkout, etc.).

- Solid experience building and deploying Microservices (Spring Boot or equivalent frameworks).

- Strong understanding of distributed systems, caching, and event driven patterns.

- Experience with REST APIs, JSON/XML, integration layers, and middleware components.

- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and DevOps practices.

Good to Have :

- Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

- Experience with messaging systems (Kafka, JMS), caching (Redis, Coherence), or NoSQL databases.

- Experience with performance optimization in high traffic ecommerce environments.

- Exposure to Docker or containerized deployments.
