About the Role :

SG IT is looking for an experienced Senior AS400 Developer to join our technology team and work on enterprise-grade applications and mission-critical business systems.

Key Skills & Requirements :

- 7+ years of strong AS400 / IBM i development experience.

- Strong hands-on experience with RPG / RPGLE, CL/CLLE, DB2 for i.

- Good understanding of AS400 architecture and enterprise applications.

- Experience in application development, enhancement, maintenance, and production support.

- Strong knowledge of SQL and database concepts.

- Experience in debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.

- Ability to analyse business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

- Strong understanding of SDLC and Agile development practices.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with distributed teams.

- Banking / Financial Services domain experience is an advantage.

Roles & Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain AS400/IBM i applications.

- Develop and maintain RPG/RPGLE programs, CL programs, and DB2 database objects.

- Analyse business and functional requirements and provide effective technical solutions.

- Perform coding, unit testing, debugging, and defect resolution.

- Troubleshoot production issues and provide timely fixes.

- Work closely with Business Analysts, QA teams, Product Owners, and other technical teams.

- Participate in application enhancements, migrations, integrations, and modernization initiatives.

- Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to development and quality standards.

- Support application releases, deployments, and production activities.

- Identify opportunities to improve application performance, reliability, and maintainability.

- Prepare and maintain technical documentation.

- Take ownership of assigned modules and deliverables within agreed timelines.
