Job Description - Senior Architect, OpenText Content Management
Role : Senior Architect - OpenText Content Server, Archive Center, Intelligent Viewing, Directory Services & Customization & SMARTUI Customizations

Role Summary :
The Senior Architect is the technical design authority for the OpenText content management and archiving landscape. The role owns the target architecture across on-premises and OpenText Cloud deployments, defines standards for customization and integration, and guides the development team to deliver secure, scalable and maintainable solutions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Own the end-to-end solution architecture for OpenText Content Server, Archive Center, Intelligent Viewing and Directory Services (OTDS).
- Produce target architecture, high-level and low-level designs, integration blueprints, interface specifications and architecture decision records.
- Define sizing, high-availability, disaster-recovery, performance and scalability concepts; validate them through load and failover testing.
- Define the information architecture : classification, metadata/categories & attributes, permission models, records management, retention and legal hold.
- Define the archiving architecture across Archive Center and Cloud Information Archive, including storage tiering and lifecycle policies.
- Define the identity and access architecture using OTDS, including SSO, federation (SAML/OIDC), LDAP/AD synchronization and partition strategy.
- Set standards and patterns for Content Server customization (modules/OScript, WebReports, LiveReports, workflows) and Smart UI customization (widgets, perspectives, perspective rules).
- Define integration architecture using Content Server REST/CWS APIs, Archive Center APIs and document pipelines, Intelligent Viewing APIs and OTDS APIs.
- Define migration architecture and strategy for content, metadata, permissions and renditions, including reconciliation and audit approach.
- Govern the upgrade, patching and compatibility strategy across all in-scope products.
- Review designs and code from the team; act as escalation point for complex technical issues and performance problems.
- Ensure all designs comply with corporate security, data protection and compliance requirements (secure by design, least privilege, encryption in transit and at rest, no hardcoded credentials, full audit logging).
- Support estimation, roadmap planning, risk management and technical decision-making with stakeholders.
- Drive documentation and knowledge transfer; prevent single-person dependencies.
Required Skills :
- Architecture and design ownership of OpenText Content Server based solutions in large enterprise environments.
- OpenText Archive Center : architecture, storage tiers, document pipelines, ArchiveLink-style integrations, retention and legal hold.
- OpenText Intelligent Viewing : architecture, rendition strategy, viewer integration, annotation and redaction concepts.
- OpenText Directory Services (OTDS) : partitions, synchronization, SSO/federation, authentication and authorization design.
- Content Server customization : modules and OScript, WebReports, LiveReports, workflows, categories & attributes, permission models.
- Smart UI customization : custom widgets, perspectives, perspective rules, branding and UI extension patterns.
- Integration design with REST, SOAP/CWS and API-driven architectures; message/event-based integration patterns.
- Non-functional design : performance tuning, capacity planning, HA/DR, backup & restore.
- Security architecture : authentication, authorization, encryption, secrets management, audit and compliance (e.g. GDPR, ISO 27001 style controls).
- Strong documentation skills (HLD/LLD, ADRs) and stakeholder communication in English.
- OpenText Cloud (CSP) and hybrid cloud architectures for the in-scope products.
- Containerized deployment concepts (Kubernetes, Helm) and infrastructure-as-code.
- Content and archive migration programs at scale.
- Search, indexing and eDiscovery/compliance concepts.
- Databases (SQL Server/PostgreSQL) and storage systems relevant to ECM workloads.
- Agile delivery, CI/CD and DevOps ways of working.
