About the Role :

We are looking for an Associate Head of Engineering to lead our engineering, IT, and infrastructure functions as we scale our SaaS platform. This is a startup- mindset leadership role that requires strong technical depth, operational rigor, and sound business judgment. You will own the end-to-end engineering and IT functionfrom system architecture and cloud infrastructure to team leadership, delivery execution, platform reliability, security, and operational excellence. You will work closely with founders, product leaders, and business stakeholders to translate company goals into scalable, secure, and high-performance technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

1. Engineering & IT Leadership :

- Lead engineering, IT, and infrastructure teams across development, support, endpoints, and security

- Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement

- Oversee system architecture, technical standards, and engineering best practices

- Drive team performance, delivery velocity, and operational efficiency

2. IT Operations & Infrastructure Management :

- Lead IT operations across infrastructure, service delivery, support, and cybersecurity

- Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and resilience of systems

- Implement strong monitoring, incident management, and disaster recovery practices

- Manage cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP) with focus on scalability and cost optimization

- Own infrastructure roadmaps and system architecture decisions

- Manage internal and external software applications and platforms

3. Project & Delivery Management :

- Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of SaaS products and engineering initiatives

- Collaborate with product, design, and business teams to plan and execute roadmaps

- Manage dependencies, risks, timelines, and resource allocation across projects

- Track and report delivery progress, risks, and outcomes to leadership

4. Strategy, Roadmaps & Vendor Management

- Develop and execute engineering and IT roadmaps aligned with business objectives

- Lead transformation initiatives, platform upgrades, and technology modernization

- Manage vendor relationships, contracts, licensing, procurement, and renewals

- Evaluate and introduce new technologies aligned with business value and scalability

5. Quality, Security & Compliance :

- Ensure adherence to coding standards, code reviews, testing, and performance benchmarks

- Champion CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and reliable deployment processes

- Enforce secure coding, data protection, and cybersecurity best practices

- Ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, and industry standards

- Lead initiatives related to audits, risk management, and compliance readiness

- Continuously monitor and improve system performance, security posture, and resilience

6. Innovation & Business Alignment :

- Act as a strategic technology partner to senior leadership

- Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions

- Lead change management and adoption of new systems and processes

- Communicate technical concepts, priorities, and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders

- Drive innovation while balancing speed, quality, scalability, and cost

Required Skills & Experience :

- 15+ years of overall experience in Engineering / IT

- Minimum 8 years in a senior leadership role managing teams and systems

- Proven experience managing enterprise systems and SaaS platforms

- Strong backend expertise in Python and Django

- Hands-on or architectural experience with React.js

- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)

- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and Git

- Experience managing infrastructure, endpoints, support tools, and architecture decisions

- Solid knowledge of cybersecurity, data protection, and compliance

- Strong vendor management, procurement, and budget ownership experience

- Excellent problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills

- Ability to lead through influence and manage complex, fast-growing technical environments
