Backend Developer (FinTech)

Job Summary :

We are seeking a skilled Backend Developer with 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining Java-based applications within the FinTech and Payments domain. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in backend technologies, object-oriented programming, and large-scale payment systems, with proven experience in UPI-based products and transaction processing.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, implement, and maintain scalable Java-based backend applications.

- Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC).

- Develop and maintain payment gateway, pay-in, and pay-out (disbursal) systems.

- Work on UPI payment products, including payment collection and disbursal services.

- Handle UPI switch integrations and NPCI development and settlement processes.

- Develop and consume RESTful APIs and microservices-based architectures.

- Write clean, efficient, secure, and scalable code following best practices.

- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve technical and production issues.

- Collaborate with frontend developers, QA teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.

- Ensure code quality through unit testing, code reviews, and documentation.

- Stay updated with industry trends, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- 4 to 6 years of experience in Java backend development with strong FinTech exposure.

- Proficiency in Java 11 and Java 21.

- Strong understanding of Java SE, OOP concepts, and design patterns.

- Hands-on experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot.

- Experience with Microservices architecture and API Gateway.

- Good understanding of Kafka for messaging and event-driven architectures.

- Experience working with RESTful APIs.

- Working knowledge of AES encryption or other security and encryption mechanisms.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Strong experience in UPI systems including UPI Switch, NPCI development, and settlement flows.

- Experience in UPI payment products, payment collection, and payout (disbursal) services.

- Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases.

- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
