Role : Senior Data Scientist (Healthcare Apps)

Reporting location : Office-based job (Hebbal Ring Road, Bengaluru)

Work timings : Day shift

Prior Experience :

4 - 6 years experience with solving real-world problems using Natural Language Processing (NLP) or Image Processing, Deep Learning, and Machine Learning, preferably in healthcare domain. Experience of Speech recognition and/or LLM models would be an added advantage.

Job Description :

This role will be part of the Scribe EMR, a healthcare division of Focus group company, into medical coding and scribing.

We are building a suite of AI powered, innovative, state of the art, web, and mobile solutions to alleviate the administrative burden of EMR data entry; increase provider satisfaction, productivity, and efficiency; and help improve patient quality of care and life.

The solution will weave technology and live scribes together for a comprehensive solution that will simplify and automate todays clinical practices and enhance clinical decision making.

This role will be responsible for developing and validating robust and scalable cognitive services (text analytics and image analytics) and applications, including validation and evaluation of technologies, and following Agile and DevOps methodologies to enable rapid iteration of development, and responsiveness.

Job Summary :

- Review business requirements, identify gaps and author functional design documents.

- Develop high-quality software that is aligned with user needs and business goals.

- Participate and author technical design documents, incl. application integration.

- Proactive and self-starter requiring minimal supervision, who can collaborate with multiple

stakeholders in the company.

- Team player who works well with development/ product engineering teams.

- Adept at troubleshooting and solving complex problems using root cause analysis.

- Adherence with software development processes.

- Demonstrate problem solving skills, and attention to quality and detail.

- Good communication skills, proficiency in verbal and written English.

- Perform code reviews and unit testing of program modules.

Roles and Responsibilities :

An ideal candidate will exhibit the following traits :

- Adapt and work on distributed technology stacks.

- Work with BAs to define/elaborate software requirements.

- Design and development of robust algorithms and techniques using machine learning, text analytics, Natural Language Processing (NLP) or image processing.

- Rapid development and validation of cognitive solutions by using and/or enhancing existing methodologies, frameworks, and architecture.

- Development of criteria for testing algorithm and system's cognitive performance objectively from end-user and market perspective.

- Conduct performance evaluation and testing of algorithms and systems on test and real clinical data.

- Work with operations team and joint development partners to develop and integrate cognitive solutions.

- Support collection and annotation of data for algorithm development and evaluation.

- Planning, processing and performing all tasks efficiently with minimum supervision.

- Take ownership of product features and work closely with stakeholders to ideate and rapidly release minimum viable product or solution.

- Extensive experience with SDLC phases including Agile methodologies.

- Perform code reviews, validation, and verification testing.

- Proactively communicate in providing status reports and report blockers.

- Document technical design and unit test plans.

- Evaluate security and regulatory requirements.

Skills Required :

- Strong experience in Machine Learning, including deep learning and statistical models.

- Knowledge of prompt engineering and usage of LLM models like GPT, BARD, or Claude.

- Strong Programming skills (Java/J2EE or .NET, C++, Python) and experience with software

systems architecture, web services, web applications, and current software development tools,

technologies, and frameworks.

- Fluent or Mastery in Text Processing / NLP or Image Processing / Computer Vision.

- Hands-on experience in software development and agile methodologies.

- Analytical mind with problem-solving aptitude.

- Knowledge of relational databases and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google cloud),

container and virtualization will be a big plus.

- Good communication and cross functional collaboration skills.

- Technical publications or white papers on NLP or Speech to text would be desirable.
