Job overview :

We are looking for a Backend Cloud Engineer to design, develop, and maintain cloud-based backend services for home automation products used by customers worldwide.

The role focuses on building scalable, secure, and high-performance microservices running in a cloud-native environment. You will work as part of an international, cross-functional team and contribute to integrations with leading smart home ecosystems.

- Design, develop, and maintain backend cloud services using Java and Spring Boot

- Build and operate microservices architectures deployed in containerized environments

- Develop, deploy, and manage services running on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)

- Design and maintain data storage solutions using MySQL, MS SQL, Redis, and similar technologies

- Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth2, OpenID Connect, etc.)

- Apply cloud cybersecurity best practices to ensure secure service design and operation

- Ensure services are scalable, highly available, and optimized for performance

- Develop and maintain integration services with third-party platforms such as :

1. Amazon Alexa

2. Google Home

3. IFTTT

4. Samsung SmartThings

- Collaborate closely with frontend, mobile, firmware, QA, and DevOps teams

- Participate in CI/CD pipelines, including automated builds, testing, and deployments

- Troubleshoot and resolve backend, cloud infrastructure, and integration issues

- Write clear technical documentation covering service architecture, APIs, and workflows

Required skills and experience :

- Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot

- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems

- Hands-on experience with Docker and container orchestration (Kubernetes, preferably AKS)

- Experience working with relational and non-relational databases (MySQL, MS SQL, Redis)

- Knowledge of cloud cybersecurity best practices (secure communication, secrets management, access control, etc.)

- Experience implementing authentication and authorization using OAuth2, OpenID Connect, or similar technologies

- Familiarity with RESTful APIs and API design best practices

- Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems (RabbitMQ, Apache Kafka, MS EventHub, etc.)

- Experience with version control systems (Git)

- Experience with writing unit tests and integration tests with Spring Boot

- Understanding of CI/CD practices and cloud-native development workflows

Nice to have :

- Experience integrating with smart home platforms (Amazon Alexa, Google Home, IFTTT, Samsung SmartThings, or similar)

- Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability tools in cloud environments

- Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM templates, etc.)

- Experience working in international or distributed development teams

- Experience with AI developer tools and agents (GitHub Copilot, JetBrains AI + Junie, )
