Job Title : SAP MM Consultant (Monitoring & Functional Support)
Experience : 5- 6 Years
Work Mode : Work From Home (WFH)
Job Summary :
We are looking for an experienced SAP MM Consultant with strong expertise in monitoring, support, and functional analysis across the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) cycle. The role involves proactive system monitoring, issue resolution, and ensuring smooth MM operations, along with close coordination with cross-functional teams like FI, SD, and Basis.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Interface & Integration Monitoring :
- Monitor and troubleshoot qRFC queues using SMQ1 (Outbound) and SMQ2 (Inbound) to ensure seamless data transfer between systems.
- Analyze queue failures and stuck entries using ARFCSSTATE, TRFCQIN, and take corrective actions.
- Perform IDoc monitoring using WE02 / WE05, including :
a. Status analysis (error, success, in-process)
b. Reprocessing failed IDocs (BD87)
c. Checking partner profiles and message types (WE20)
- Identify root causes of interface failures and coordinate with middleware/technical teams.
2. Batch Job Monitoring & Scheduling :
- Monitor background jobs using SM37, ensuring timely execution of critical MM jobs.
- Analyze job logs, identify failures, and troubleshoot issues related to :
a. Variants
b. Dependencies in job chains
- Reschedule or restart failed jobs and coordinate with Basis for recurring issues.
3. Application & System Monitoring :
- Monitor application logs via SLG1 for MM-related objects and sub-objects.
- Track system issues using :
a. ST22 (ABAP dumps)
b. SM21 (system logs)
c. ST03N / ST06 (performance analysis)
- Ensure system stability by proactively identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks.
4. RFC & Connectivity Monitoring :
- Monitor RFC connections using SM59 and SMGW.
- Perform connection tests and resolve issues like :
a. CPIC errors
b. Gateway connection failures
- Coordinate with Basis/network teams for persistent connectivity issues.
5. Update & Lock Management :
- Analyze update failures in SM13 and ensure data consistency.
- Monitor and release locks using SM12 to avoid transaction bottlenecks.
- Investigate root causes of failed updates and ensure proper data posting.
6. Procurement Cycle Monitoring (P2P) :
- Monitor end-to-end procurement processes including :
a. Purchase Requisition (PR) , Purchase Order (PO) , Goods Receipt (GR) , Invoice Verification (IV)
- Troubleshoot issues in PO creation and output determination using ME23N, ME9F
- Resolve output issues such as missing or failed PO messages.
7. GR/IR & Invoice Issues :
- Analyze and resolve GR/IR mismatches using :
a. MRBR (blocked invoices)
b. MB5S (GR/IR reconciliation)
- Handle invoice blocking issues due to :
a. Price variance
b. Quantity variance
- Work closely with FI team to ensure proper financial postings.
8. Inventory Monitoring :
- Monitor stock levels and inconsistencies using :
a. MB5K (stock valuation)
b. MB5T (stock in transit)
c. MB52 (warehouse stock)
- Investigate and resolve movement type errors via :
a. MB51
b. MIGO error logs
- Ensure accurate inventory reporting and reconciliation.
9. Master Data Monitoring :
- Validate and troubleshoot issues in :
a. Material Master (MM03)
b. Vendor Master (XK03)
- Ensure master data consistency across systems and resolve integration issues.
Required Skills & Competencies :
Core Functional Knowledge :
- Strong understanding of MM-IM (Inventory Management) document flow
- Expertise in Procure-to-Pay (P2P) cycle
- Knowledge of :
1. Output determination (messages, forms)
2. Pricing procedures and conditions
3. Invoice verification and blocking reasons
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills :
- Ability to :
1. Analyze blocked invoices
2. Identify price and quantity variances
3. Resolve stock discrepancies
- Strong troubleshooting skills for real-time production issues
Integration Knowledge :
- Good understanding of MMFI integration, including :
1. GR/IR postings
2. Account determination (OBYC)
- Ability to trace and resolve cross-module issues between MM and FI.
Technical Awareness :
- Basic knowledge of :
1. IDocs, RFCs, and batch jobs
2. SAP tables and logs for troubleshooting
- Ability to coordinate with ABAP/Basis teams for complex issues.
Additional Skills (Good to Have) :
- Experience in AMS (Application Maintenance Support) projects
- Exposure to S/4HANA environment
- Familiarity with ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.)
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Key Expectations :
- Ensure 24/7 monitoring readiness (if required in shifts)
- Provide quick turnaround for production issues
- Maintain SLA compliance
- Proactively identify and prevent system issues
