Job Description :

We are seeking an experienced SAP Master Data Governance (SAP MDG) Consultant with 7 - 9 years of SAP experience and strong expertise in SAP MDG implementation, configuration, customization, and support. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience working on SAP MDG projects involving master data governance processes, workflow management, data replication, business rules management, and integration with SAP ERP and SAP S/4HANA systems.

The candidate will be responsible for configuring and supporting SAP MDG solutions, managing master data governance processes, analyzing change requests (CRs), configuring replication frameworks, and ensuring seamless master data synchronization across enterprise systems. The role requires strong functional and technical understanding of SAP MDG workflows, BRF+, Data Replication Framework (DRF), Key Mapping, and integration mechanisms.

The consultant will work closely with business stakeholders, data governance teams, functional consultants, and technical teams to ensure data quality, compliance, and efficient master data management across the organization.

Key Responsibilities :

1. SAP MDG Implementation & Configuration :

- Participate in SAP MDG implementation, enhancement, rollout, and support projects.

- Gather business requirements related to master data governance and translate them into SAP MDG solutions.

- Configure SAP MDG data models, governance processes, validations, derivations, and business rules.

- Support implementation of governance processes for master data domains such as :

1. Customer Master

2. Vendor/Supplier Master

3. Material Master

4. Business Partner

5. Financial Master Data

- Configure and maintain MDG change request types, workflows, governance rules, and approval processes.

- Ensure compliance with enterprise master data governance standards and policies.

2. Data Replication Framework (DRF) & Key Mapping :

- Configure and support SAP Data Replication Framework (DRF).

- Design and implement master data replication processes between SAP MDG and connected systems.

- Configure replication models, outbound implementations, filters, and replication monitoring.

- Maintain and support Key Mapping and Value Mapping configurations.

- Troubleshoot replication failures and resolve synchronization issues.

- Ensure consistent and accurate master data distribution across SAP and non-SAP applications.

3. BRF+ Configuration & Business Rules Management :

- Configure and maintain BRF+ applications, decision tables, validation rules, and derivation rules.

- Develop business rules that support governance and approval processes.

- Enhance data quality through automated validations and business rule enforcement.

- Collaborate with business teams to define governance policies and approval criteria.

- Support ongoing changes and enhancements to BRF+ configurations.

4. Workflow Configuration & Change Request Management :

- Configure and maintain SAP MDG workflows for various master data governance processes.

- Analyze Change Requests (CRs) and workflow execution paths.

- Investigate workflow bottlenecks, approval failures, and process exceptions.

- Support workflow enhancements and troubleshooting activities.

- Work closely with business users to resolve workflow-related issues.

- Monitor workflow performance and ensure timely completion of governance processes.

5. Technical Analysis & ERP Integration :

- Analyze SAP MDG workflow tables, application tables, and ERP integration points.

- Understand and troubleshoot backend ERP tables associated with master data processing.

- Support technical analysis of workflow logs, replication logs, and system interfaces.

- Collaborate with ABAP and technical teams to resolve system issues and implement enhancements.

- Assist in root cause analysis and problem resolution activities.

6. SAP MDG Integration & Data Transfer :

- Support interfaces and data transfer mechanisms between SAP MDG and other SAP applications.

- Configure and monitor master data replication to SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA systems.

- Analyze inbound and outbound interfaces related to master data synchronization.

- Support integration with :

1. SAP ERP

2. SAP S/4HANA

3. SAP CRM

4. SAP SRM

5. SAP Ariba

6. Third-Party Systems

- Ensure seamless flow of master data across enterprise applications.

7. Data Governance & Data Quality :

- Support enterprise-wide data governance initiatives.

- Monitor master data quality and identify improvement opportunities.

- Ensure compliance with governance standards and regulatory requirements.

- Assist in implementing data quality controls and monitoring mechanisms.

- Support data stewardship and master data management activities.

8. Testing & Documentation :

- Prepare functional specifications and configuration documents.

- Develop test cases, test scripts, and execute testing activities.

- Support SIT, UAT, and production deployment activities.

- Maintain process documentation, governance procedures, and support manuals.

- Conduct knowledge transfer and end-user training sessions.

9. Production Support :

- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for SAP MDG applications.

- Troubleshoot workflow issues, replication failures, and data inconsistencies.

- Analyze incidents and implement corrective actions.

- Support enhancements, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications :

- 4 - 9 years of SAP experience.

- Hands-on experience in SAP MDG implementation or support projects.

- Strong experience in Data Replication Framework (DRF) configuration.

- Experience with Key Mapping and Value Mapping.

- Hands-on experience with BRF+ configuration and business rule management.

- Strong understanding of SAP MDG workflows and Change Request processes.

- Ability to analyze workflow-related issues and Change Requests (CRs).

- Good understanding of ERP tables and SAP backend structures.

- Experience working with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA environments.

- Knowledge of integration mechanisms between SAP MDG and other SAP applications.

Preferred Qualifications :

- SAP MDG Certification.

- SAP S/4HANA MDG experience.

- Knowledge of ABAP debugging and enhancement concepts.

- Experience with SAP Business Partner, Customer, Vendor, or Material Master governance.

- Exposure to data migration and data quality initiatives.

- Experience in large-scale enterprise SAP environments.

Educational Qualification :

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

- SAP certifications in MDG or S/4HANA will be an added advantage.
