SAP HANA Performance & Operations Specialist

Role Summary :

We are seeking an experienced SAP HANA Performance & Operations Specialist with strong expertise in SAP HANA administration, performance optimization, and end-to-end system analysis across SAP landscapes. The role requires deep technical knowledge of HANA databases, ABAP systems, and S/4HANA environments, along with the ability to perform root cause analysis and implement performance best practices in complex enterprise environments.

Job Description :

- Extensive experience in SAP HANA operations, administration, and performance optimization for SAP applications including ERP on HANA, BW on HANA, BW/4HANA, and S/4HANA.

- Strong familiarity with HANA Mini Checks, SQL statement analysis, Early Watch Alert (EWA) reports, HANA fundamentals, and ABAP system performance KPIs and transactions.

- Proven expertise in end-to-end analysis of SAP HANA performance KPIs, including identification and resolution of memory, CPU, and I/O bottlenecks.

- Advanced capabilities in SQL statement analysis and query tuning on SAP HANA, with the ability to independently identify and optimize expensive SQL statements.

- Ability to analyze system-wide performance bottlenecks across both SAP HANA database and operating system levels, particularly for ABAP-based applications, including tracing performance issues back to their ABAP origins.

- Solid understanding of ABAP development fundamentals, enabling effective correlation of issues across database and application layers, including :

1. Function modules

2. Methods

3. Where-used analysis

- Hands-on experience supporting S/4HANA environments, with working knowledge of :

1. ABAP CDS Views

2. Fiori-based application integration with SAP HANA systems.

- Good understanding of SAP system housekeeping practices, including :

1. Data reduction strategies

2. Data archiving for HANA-based systems.

- Expertise in HANA table partitioning strategies aligned with SAP application best practices, along with experience in :

1. Data tiering

2. Data aging

3. Near-Line Storage (NLS) for BW on HANA to enable effective data volume management.

- Strong capability in conducting deep technical root cause analysis and implementing performance optimization best practices across complex SAP HANA landscapes.

- Well-versed in SAP technology stacks, cloud platforms, and HANA cloud adoption methodologies.

- Experience in SAP Suite on HANA and S/4HANA migrations (Greenfield and Brownfield) including:

1. Data migration to Suite on HANA (SoH) and S/4HANA

2. System readiness checks and assessments

3. Post-migration stabilization (shakedown) activities.
