Job Overview :

We are looking for an experienced SAP BusinessObjects (BOBJ) Developer to join our Productivity Applications team. Our core mission is to drive business success through data-driven insights, process automation, resilience, and the establishment of efficient reporting workflows.

The team plays a pivotal role in both business and IT transformations, with a mandate spanning from the ideation and evaluation phase, straight through to technical development, implementation, and business integration.

The team is in search of a seasoned developer who is prepared to engage with complex BI architectures and passionate about overseeing solutions from inception to completion.

This role encompasses a range of responsibilities, including platform architecture, upgrade planning and execution, report development, end-user enablement, and cross-functional collaboration with IT and business stakeholders.

In order to be successful in this role :

Candidates should demonstrate hands-on experience with SAP BusinessObjects platform administration, architecture, and development.

The ability to navigate complex technical environments is essential, along with a strong understanding of enterprise BI ecosystems.

Successful candidates will have a proven track record in delivering end-to-end BI solutions, a willingness to engage with existing platforms and processes, and effective interpersonal and communication skills.

Experience in platform upgrades, performance tuning, and cross-source data integration is highly valued.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate strong experience with the below listed required skills.

- SAP BusinessObjects platform (4.x - including BOBJ 4.2, 4.3, and BO 2025)

- SAP BO architecture: Central Management Server (CMS), Web Intelligence, Adaptive Processing Server, and related services

- BO platform upgrade planning and execution (side-by-side or in-place migration scenarios)

- Universe design and administration (UNX/IDT and UNV/Designer)

The below listed skills are also highly desirable :

- Power BI for enterprise reporting and dashboard development

- REST API and BO SDK (RESTful BI) for programmatic administration

- Python scripting for data processing and automation workflows

- Informatica for data integration and ETL pipeline management

Key Responsibilities and Duties :

- Be an active member of the Productivity Applications team, contributing to strategy, roadmaps, and team objectives.

- Architect, design, develop, test, and deploy SAP BusinessObjects reports (Web Intelligence) and universes in support of business requirements and best practices.

- Lead and execute SAP BO platform upgrades, including pre-upgrade assessments, migration planning (side-by-side or in-place), environment validation, and post-upgrade stabilization.

- Maintain and optimize the BO platform architecture, including CMS database, server tiers, Adaptive Processing Servers, and clustering configurations.

- Manage and publish content to BO information spaces (BI Launchpad / BI Platform 2025) ensuring governance and security model compliance.

- Design and maintain semantic layers (universes) over enterprise data sources in collaboration with data and integration teams.

- Leverage Python scripting and Informatica to support data processing, ETL workflows, and BO content automation.

- Work with Project Managers and Business Analysts to develop high-level project plans for BO implementation and upgrade projects.

- Provide technical guidance, documentation, and mentorship to junior team members on BO development standards and best practices.

- Ensure all deliverables and commitments are met and that projects adhere to relevant standards and methodologies.

- Identify opportunities to modernize or optimize existing BO content, including migration paths toward Power BI where applicable.

Qualifications and Experience :

- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or equivalent experience required

- 5+ years of hands-on SAP BusinessObjects development and administration experience

- Demonstrated experience delivering at least one full SAP BO platform upgrade (4.2 - 4.3 or equivalent)

- Strong understanding of SAP BO architecture components and their interdependencies

- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills

- Ability to work collaboratively with business stakeholders and IT teams across time zones

- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

- Ability to work both independently and as part of a globally distributed team
