SAP ABAP Technical Consultant

Job Description :

- Design, develop, customize and maintain SAP PLM technical solutions based on business and functional requirements.

- Provide technical expertise across SAP ABAP and SAP PLM Web UI.

- Analyze existing SAP standard functionality and identify gaps between business requirements and standard SAP solutions.

- Propose appropriate technical solutions, workarounds and enhancements wherever standard SAP functionality does not meet business requirements.

- Prepare detailed technical specifications for enhancements, interfaces, reports, forms, workflows and other SAP developments.

- Develop and maintain RICEFW objects including Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms and Workflows.

- Work extensively with Core ABAP and Object-Oriented ABAP (OOABAP).

- Develop and support applications using WebDynpro and FPM.

- Design and implement SAP Workflow solutions based on business process requirements.

- Develop and maintain Adobe Forms and other SAP forms.

- Work with modern SAP technologies including CDS Views, AMDP, BOPF, OData and SAP Fiori.

- Develop and support OData services and integrate SAP backend functionality with Fiori applications.

- Work on technical enhancements and custom developments within SAP PLM environments.

- Provide technical support for SAP PLM 7.0/7.02 and S/4HANA environments.

- Work on SAP PLM processes including :

1 Specification Management

2. Recipe Development

3. Bill of Materials (BOM)

4. Engineering Change Management (ECM)

5. Classification

- Understand integration points between SAP PLM and other SAP modules.

- Exposure to PP-PI, MM and QM will be an added advantage.

- Participate in requirement gathering sessions with SMEs, Product Owners, business users and other stakeholders.

- Translate business requirements into appropriate technical designs and SAP solutions.

- Prepare technical design documents and provide estimates for development activities.

- Participate in solution design, development, unit testing, integration testing and deployment activities.

- Troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide root-cause analysis and permanent solutions.

- Support production environments and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.

- Work according to Application Management Support (AMS) processes, including :

1. Incident Management

2. Problem Management

3. Change Management

- Analyze incidents and problems, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

- Coordinate with functional and technical teams during issue resolution and production deployments.

- Ensure that developments follow SAP technical standards, coding guidelines and project-specific quality standards.

- Participate in code reviews, technical reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.

- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior ABAP/PLM consultants.

- Take ownership of assigned technical deliverables and ensure timely completion.

- Lead or coordinate technical activities within the team when required.

- Work directly with clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, from requirement gathering through solution deployment.l
