Job Description :

We are looking for an experienced Senior SAP ABAP + RAP Developer with 5-8 years of core SAP development experience to design, build, and extend custom business applications on SAP S/4HANA.

In this role, you will leverage modern development paradigms, specifically the SAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP), CDS Views, OData services, and Object-Oriented ABAP, to deliver robust, enterprise-grade back-end solutions and seamlessly power SAP Fiori user interfaces.

You will collaborate closely with functional consultants, solution architects, and front-end Fiori developers to translate complex business needs into clean, performant, and scalable technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

1. SAP RAP & S/4HANA Development :

- RAP Architecture: Design, build, and optimize greenfield and extension applications using the SAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) (managed and unmanaged scenarios).

- CDS & Business Services: Develop complex Core Data Services (CDS) Views utilizing annotations, associations, and parameters, and expose them as OData V2/V4 business services via Service Definitions and Service Bindings.

- Modern ABAP: Write clean, maintainable code adhering to Object-Oriented ABAP (OO-ABAP) standards and modern ABAP syntax (7.4+ / S/4HANA programming models).

2. OData & SAP Fiori Integration :

- Design, build, and debug OData services (SEGW & RAP-based) to enable seamless data exchange between SAP S/4HANA back-end systems and SAP Fiori / UI5 applications.

- Collaborate with UI/UX teams to support Fiori Elements, custom UI5 applications, and draft handling implementations within RAP.

3. System Optimization & Customization :

- Execute performance tuning, code optimization, and execution analysis using tools such as SAT, ST05 (SQL Trace), ATC (ABAP Test Cockpit), and SQL Monitor.

- Develop, extend, and maintain traditional ABAP artifacts (Enhancements, BAdIs, User Exits, AMDPs) while transitioning legacy code toward S/4HANA best practices.

4. Collaboration & Technical Leadership :

- Perform root cause analysis, systemic debugging, and operational defect resolution in production and non-production environments.

- Conduct technical code reviews, document technical design specifications (TDS), and provide effort estimates for change requests and new projects.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

- Core Experience: 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development, with at least 5 years of dedicated experience working with ABAP & RAP on S/4HANA platforms.

- Technical Expertise :

1. SAP RAP & CDS: Advanced proficiency in SAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP), Business Object Behavior Definition (BDEF), draft enablement, and CDS View modeling.

2. OO-ABAP: Strong mastery of Object-Oriented ABAP design patterns, classes, interfaces, and exception handling.

3. APIs & Protocols: Hands-on experience developing and consuming OData (V2 & V4) services, RESTful APIs, and RFCs/BAPIs.

4. S/4HANA Architecture: In-depth knowledge of S/4HANA data structures, ABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP), and Core Data Services (CDS).

5. Fiori Enablement: Experience working with SAP Fiori Elements annotations and UI integration requirements.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have) :

- Certification: SAP Certified Development Specialist - ABAP for SAP HANA or SAP Certified Development Associate - SAP Fiori Application Developer.

- Knowledge of SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) development environments (e.g., ABAP Environment / Steampunk).

- Experience with Agile / Scrum methodologies and tools (Jira, Confluence, Git).
