Role Overview :

Skilled SAP ABAP Developer with strong hands-on experience in ABAP development, OOP ABAP, OData services, CDS Views, API integrations, and modern ABAP programming. The candidate should have strong debugging and troubleshooting capabilities and be able to independently develop, enhance, and support SAP applications.

Key Skills & Responsibilities :

- Strong experience in developing reports, function modules, dialog programs, Screen Painter, Menu Painter, and enhancements such as BAdIs, User Exits, Enhancement Spots, and other enhancement frameworks.

- Good hands-on knowledge of classes, methods, constructors, interfaces, inheritance, polymorphism, abstract classes, and design patterns, including the Singleton pattern.

- Experience in developing and supporting OData services, including CRUD operations, entity handling, error handling, and file upload/download functionality. Should be able to debug and troubleshoot issues across the OData and SAP backend layers.

- Experience CDS View development, including inner joins, associations, parameterized CDS Views, filtering, calculated fields, and annotations.

- Experience in integrating SAP with external applications through APIs, with good understanding of REST APIs, JSON/XML payloads, request/response handling, authentication, exception handling, and integration troubleshooting.

- Strong knowledge of ABAP 7.5+ syntax and modern coding practices, including inline declarations, table expressions, FOR expressions, VALUE, CORRESPONDING, COND, SWITCH, REDUCE, and modern internal table processing.

- Basic knowledge of SAPUI5 application development and SAP Business Application Studio (BAS). Understanding of how UI5 applications consume OData services will be an added advantage.

- Strong analytical and debugging skills with the ability to identify root causes and resolve issues in ABAP programs, OData services, APIs, and related SAP components.

- Ability to analyze technical requirements and provide effective solutions.

- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with functional and technical teams.

- Knowledge on Agile methodologies & experience with Azure Dev Ops would be a plus.

- Good communication and documentation skills.
