About the Role :

We are looking for a skilled SAP ABAP Consultant to join the team supporting ABB in Bangalore. The candidate will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and supporting SAP solutions, working closely with functional teams and business stakeholders in a hybrid delivery environment.

Key Responsibilities :

- Develop, enhance, and maintain SAP ABAP programs based on business and technical requirements.

- Work on Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms and Workflows (RICEF).

- Develop and maintain ALV reports, Classical/Interactive reports and OO ABAP programs.

- Work extensively with BAPIs, BADIs, User Exits, Customer Exits and Enhancement Framework.

- Develop and support SAP interfaces using IDocs, RFCs, BAPIs and web services/APIs.

- Work on Adobe Forms / Smart Forms / SAP Scripts.

- Perform debugging, root-cause analysis and performance optimization.

- Collaborate with SAP functional consultants to understand requirements and provide technical solutions.

- Prepare technical specifications and development documentation.

- Participate in unit testing, integration testing, defect resolution and deployment activities.

- Provide production support and resolve technical issues within agreed SLAs.

- Follow ABB's development standards, security guidelines and change-management processes.

- Participate in code reviews and ensure high-quality, maintainable ABAP development.

Required Technical Skills :

- 6 - 10+ years of hands-on SAP ABAP experience.

- Strong knowledge of ABAP/OO ABAP.

- Experience with RICEF developments.

- Strong experience in : Reports and ALV, BAPIs/BADIs, User/Customer Exits, Enhancement Framework, IDocs, RFCs, Interfaces, Adobe Forms/Smart Forms, Debugging and performance tuning.

- Good understanding of SAP integration concepts.

- Experience working with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA.

- Knowledge of ABAP on HANA and performance optimization.

- Exposure to CDS Views, AMDP and modern S/4HANA development is preferred.

- Knowledge of OData/REST APIs is an advantage.

- Exposure to SAP BTP or integration technologies such as SAP CPI is an added advantage.

Preferred Skills :

- Experience in SAP S/4HANA implementation, rollout or support projects.

- Knowledge of CDS, AMDP, RAP and Fiori-related backend development.

- Experience working in large global organizations.

- Good understanding of SAP transport and release management.

- Experience with Agile/DevOps delivery methodologies.

- Exposure to SAP Cloud ALM / Solution Manager is desirable.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Soft Skills :

- Ability to work independently as well as within a distributed team.

- Good stakeholder management skills.

- Ability to understand business requirements and convert them into effective technical solutions.

Education :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

- SAP ABAP certification is an advantage but not mandatory.
