Job Description :


A Salesforce Architect with Education Cloud responsibilities serves as the strategic anchor between an educational institution's business goals (student success, enrollment, advancement) and technical implementation. They are responsible for designing a secure, scalable, and manageable architecture that bridges the gap between the SIS (Student Information System), LMS (Learning Management System), and the Salesforce CRM


Role & Responsibilities :


Design & Governance :


- Architecture Strategy : Define the "north-star" architecture and governance framework to ensure scalability, security, and long-term maintainability.

- Data Modeling : Design the data schema (e.g., using Account Model for K-12 Architecture Kit, or person accounts) to ensure 360-degree constituent views.

- Security & Privacy : Define user access levels, encryption policies, and GDPR compliance protocols to secure sensitive student/donor data.

- Technical Debt Management : Prevent over-customization and manage technical debt by adhering to Salesforce Well-Architected Frameworks

- Data Management : Import/Export and maintaining data integrity using validation rules

- Security : Sharing rules and OWD (Organization-Wide Defaults)

- Automation : Designing processes to reduce manual tasks

- Experience implementing Salesforce configuration changes; DevOps/release management

- Integration : Installing and configuring 3rd party integrations

- Must have Salesforce Architect Certifications

Education Cloud Specifics :

- Constituent Journey Mapping : Design personalized experiences for the entire student lifecycle, including recruitment, admissions, student success, and alumni advancement.

- SIS/LMS Integration : Integrate Education Cloud with external systems (SIS, LMS, financial aid) to create a unified data foundation.

- Relationship Management : Implement tools for managing complex relationships, such as households, affiliations, and relationships between students, staff, and faculty.

System Integration & Performance :

- Integration Architecture : Develop strategies for API management and data migration, often leveraging MuleSoft for complex, multi-system connections.

- Performance Optimization : Monitor platform limits (governor limits) and optimize data storage to ensure fast performance as the institution grows.

Technical Leadership & Stakeholder Management :

- Stakeholder Collaboration : Translate complex technical concepts into actionable business strategies for non-technical stakeholders (e.g., deans, registrars).

- Team Leadership : Guide developers and consultants on best practices for declarative automation (Flows) vs. Apex, and manage release readiness.
