Role : Salesforce DevOps & Release Management Engineer

Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Salesforce DevOps & Release Management Engineer responsible for managing Salesforce deployment pipelines, CI/CD processes, source control, environment management, release planning, and production deployments.

The candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Salesforce DevOps practices and tools such as Copado, Gearset, Salesforce CLI, Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps or similar CI/CD platforms. The role will work closely with Salesforce Developers, Administrators, QA teams, Product Owners, and Release Managers to ensure reliable and high-quality releases.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, implement, and maintain Salesforce CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments.

- Manage Salesforce deployments from Development - Integration - QA - UAT - Production.

- Own the end-to-end Salesforce release management lifecycle, including release planning, deployment scheduling, validation, and production implementation.

- Manage source control using Git/GitHub/GitLab/Bitbucket and follow appropriate branching and merge strategies.

- Perform Salesforce metadata deployments using Salesforce CLI, Metadata API, Change Sets, Copado, Gearset or similar tools.

- Configure and maintain automated deployment pipelines using Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or equivalent tools.

- Manage Salesforce sandboxes and ensure environments remain synchronized and aligned with the release strategy.

- Coordinate release activities with development, QA, business, and production support teams.

- Perform deployment validation, dependency analysis, pre-deployment checks, and post-deployment verification.

- Implement automated testing, quality gates, and validation processes to minimize deployment failures.

- Troubleshoot deployment failures, metadata conflicts, merge issues, validation errors, and environment-related issues.

- Manage hotfixes, emergency releases, rollback activities, and production fixes.

- Maintain release calendars, deployment trackers, release notes, and implementation documentation.

- Ensure proper approval and governance processes are followed before production deployments.

- Monitor deployment pipelines and provide timely resolution of failed builds or deployments.

- Support Salesforce developers in resolving Git merge conflicts and deployment-related issues.

- Establish and maintain best practices around source-driven development and continuous integration.

- Identify opportunities to automate manual release activities and improve deployment efficiency.

- Support Salesforce platform upgrades and ensure existing customizations and integrations remain compatible.

Required Technical Skills :

- Strong hands-on experience in Salesforce DevOps and Release Management.

- Good understanding of Salesforce metadata, deployment lifecycle, sandboxes, and environments.

- Strong knowledge of Salesforce CLI and Metadata API.

- Hands-on experience with Git and branching/merging strategies.

- Experience with one or more Salesforce DevOps tools : Copado, Gearset, Salesforce DevOps Center.

- Experience with CI/CD tools such as : Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD.

- Good understanding of Salesforce components including : Apex, Lightning Web Components, Flows, Profiles & Permission Sets, Custom Objects & Fields, Validation Rules, Workflows, Reports & Dashboards, Lightning Pages, Integrations.

- Understanding of automated testing and Salesforce deployment validation.

- Knowledge of release governance, change management, and deployment controls.

- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Good to Have :

- Salesforce Administrator / Platform Developer / DevOps-related certifications.

- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

- Experience managing large-scale Salesforce releases across multiple teams.

- Knowledge of Jira, ServiceNow, Confluence or other ALM/change-management tools.

- Experience with Salesforce DX and scratch orgs.

- Knowledge of Salesforce security and deployment dependencies.

- Experience with automated regression testing tools.

- Experience supporting Salesforce production incidents and emergency releases.

Behavioral Skills :

- Ability to coordinate multiple releases and teams simultaneously.

- Strong ownership of production deployments and release activities.

- Good analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.

- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with distributed teams.
