Position : Senior Cloud & Kubernetes Platform Engineer

Location : Bangalore

Position Summary :

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Cloud & Kubernetes Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable, secure, and highly available cloud and Kubernetes platforms.

This role focuses on improving developer experience through platform automation, Kubernetes-native tooling, Infrastructure as Code, and GitOps-driven workflows.

You will work closely with platform and application teams to deliver reliable, secure, and developer-friendly infrastructure on a scale.

Your Role Responsibilities and Duties :

Cloud & Core Infrastructure :

- Architect, build, and operate highly available, scalable, and secure AWS infrastructure

- Design VPCs, IAM, compute, storage, and load balancing following AWS best practices

- Implement scalability, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies

- Support multi-AZ and multi-region production architectures

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) :

- Design and maintain Terraform-based infrastructure using reusable modules and workspaces

- Integrate Terraform workflows into CI/CD pipelines with automated validation and provisioning

- Drive infrastructure standardization, governance, and reusability

Containers & Kubernetes Platform :

- Design, deploy, and operate Kubernetes clusters (EKS and on-premise)

- Own Kubernetes control plane and node lifecycle management, including upgrades

- Manage EKS add-ons such as VPC CNI, CoreDNS, kube-proxy, CSI drivers, and ALB Ingress Controller

- Implement multi-cluster architectures for failover, workload placement, and service discovery

Kubernetes Controller & Platform Development :

- Develop custom Kubernetes controllers and operators using controller-runtime

- Build CRDs and Kubernetes API extensions for platform automation

- Manage API versioning, lifecycle, and backward compatibility

- Optimize controller performance and resiliency at scale

Security & Governance :

- Implement Pod Security Standards and Kubernetes RBAC best practices

- Enforce policies using OPA Gatekeeper or Kyverno Saarthee Actionable Insights

- Secure the container supply chain with image scanning, SBOMs, and signing/verification

GitOps & CI/CD :

- Implement GitOps workflows using ArgoCD or FluxCD

- Design CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or GitHub Actions

- Enable automated rollbacks, drift detection, and environment consistency

Automation, Operations & Incident Management :

- Build platform tooling, automation, and services using Python or Golang

- Write shell scripts for infrastructure and cluster operations

- Lead and participate in production incident response and root cause analysis

- Diagnose failures across cloud, Kubernetes, networking, and CI/CD systems

Requirements :

- Strong expertise in AWS (VPC, EC2, IAM, ALB/NLB, ASG, Route53, RDS, Lambda, EKS, S3, EBS)

- Deep understanding of networking fundamentals (CIDR, routing, DNS, security groups, load balancing)

- Hands-on experience with Terraform (modules, workspaces, remote state, CI integration)

- Strong experience with Docker (multi-stage builds, image optimization, security, multi-arch builds)

- Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes internals (control plane, API lifecycle, CRDs, operators, etcd)

- Hands-on development of Kubernetes controllers/operators using controller-runtime patterns

- Strong programming skills in Python or Golang (at least one required)

- Experience managing production Kubernetes upgrades and EKS add-ons

- Strong Linux system administration and troubleshooting skills

- Proven experience handling production incidents in large-scale distributed systems
