Role Overview :

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to lead the architecture and technical direction of enterprise-scale B2B customer portal, commerce, and digital transformation initiatives. The role will own solution architecture across discovery, design, build, testing, deployment, and support, working closely with business stakeholders, product teams, vendors, and delivery teams. The successful candidate will bring strong SAP Order-to-Cash (OTC) and customer-facing portal integration expertise, together with modern cloud and composable architecture knowledge.

Working Model :

- Remote position with collaboration and availability aligned to UK working hours.

- Expected to work effectively with distributed business, technology, product, and delivery teams.

- Participation in architecture workshops, design reviews, governance forums, and delivery ceremonies.

Key Responsibilities :

- Own end-to-end solution architecture for B2B customer portals, commerce platforms, and digital transformation programmes.

- Lead business and technical discovery, translate requirements into scalable solution designs, and define architecture principles and technology roadmaps.

- Produce and govern High-Level Designs (HLDs), integration architecture, API specifications, non-functional requirements, and technical decision documentation.

- Design integration between customer-facing portals and SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA using APIs, IDocs, OData, SAP Integration Suite (CPI/BTP), and appropriate enterprise integration patterns.

- Apply modern architecture approaches including API-first, headless, MACH, microservices, cloud-native, event-driven, and composable commerce patterns.

- Provide technical leadership across build, testing, deployment, production support, and continuous improvement activities.

- Work closely with business stakeholders and product owners to challenge requirements constructively and drive practical technology decisions.

- Coordinate architecture decisions across internal engineering teams, implementation partners, vendors, and other technology stakeholders.

- Ensure solutions address scalability, availability, security, performance, maintainability, observability, and operational support requirements.

- Identify architectural risks, dependencies, integration constraints, and technical debt, and establish mitigation approaches.

Essential Skills & Experience :

- 10+ years of experience delivering enterprise-scale B2B customer portal, commerce, digital, or transformation solutions.

- Proven ownership of Solution Architecture across discovery, design, build, testing, deployment, and support.

- Strong expertise in SAP Order-to-Cash (OTC) processes and customer-facing portal solutions.

- Hands-on experience integrating portals with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA.

- Strong knowledge of APIs, IDocs, OData, SAP Integration Suite (CPI/BTP), and enterprise integration patterns.

- Experience defining HLDs, integration designs, non-functional requirements, architecture standards, and technology roadmaps.

- Strong understanding of MACH, API-first, headless, microservices, cloud-native, and event-driven architecture principles.

- Strong technical foundation in enterprise application architecture, integration, and cloud delivery practices.

- Demonstrated experience working across complex transformation programmes with multiple business and technology stakeholders.

Nice to Have :

- SAP Commerce, SAP CX, commercetools, Mirakl, Spryker, or another composable commerce platform.

- SAP Commerce Cloud or SAP CX certification.

- Experience delivering AI-enabled customer solutions or AI-assisted digital experiences.

- Oil & Gas or another regulated-industry background.

- Strong SAP ECC and S/4HANA domain knowledge.

They should combine deep SAP Order-to-Cash and integration expertise with practical experience in modern architecture patterns and cloud delivery. They will be comfortable leading discovery, solution design, integration architecture, technical governance, and delivery assurance while maintaining strong relationships with both business and technology stakeholders.
