Key Responsibilities :
- Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using RPG (RPG III/IV, ILE RPG, or Free Format RPG) on IBM i (AS/400) systems.
- Analyze business requirements related to supply chain functions such as procurement, inventory management, logistics, and order fulfillment.
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate functional requirements into technical specifications.
- Support and optimize existing supply chain modules, ensuring high performance and reliability.
- Perform debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of system issues.
- Integrate RPG applications with other enterprise systems, including ERP and warehouse management systems.
- Write and maintain technical documentation, including program logic, workflows, and system changes.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Assist in system testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), and deployment activities.
- Provide production support and ensure minimal downtime for critical operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3 - 8 years of hands-on experience in RPG development on IBM i (AS/400).
- Strong knowledge of supply chain business processes (inventory, procurement, logistics, distribution).
- Experience with DB2/400 database, CL programming, and SQL.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and their supply chain modules.
- Ability to read and understand legacy code and modernize where required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of system integration techniques and APIs is a plus.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with modern RPG (Free Format) and exposure to web services integration.
- Knowledge of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) in supply chain environments.
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum development methodologies.
- Exposure to DevOps practices and version control tools.
