Role Overview :

The Infrastructure Architect is responsible for defining, designing, and governing the end-to-end infrastructure architecture across the banks technology landscape.

This role ensures that infrastructure solutions are secure, scalable, resilient, cost-optimized, and aligned with the enterprise architecture strategy, regulatory requirements, and the banks business strategy and roadmap.

This role will collaborate closely with Infrastructure (including Cloud), Information Security, Application teams and ITGRC stakeholders to architect infrastructure platforms that support banking systems.

Responsibility :

Infrastructure Architecture & Design :

- Define and maintain the banks infrastructure architecture blueprint, aligning with enterprise architecture standards.

- Design infrastructure solutions covering compute, storage, network, virtualization, cloud, on-premises data centers, and hybrid architectures.

- Review high-level (HLD) and low-level (LLD) architectural designs for new initiatives and technology modernization programs from infrastructure perspective.

- Ensure architectures meet HA/DR, performance, scalability, and compliance needs.

Cloud & Hybrid Strategy :

- Architect hybrid/multi-cloud environments (Azure/AWS/GCP) suitable for regulated banking workloads.

- Define landing zones, cloud governance boundaries, and cloud-native infrastructure patterns.

- Guide cloud migration strategies, infrastructure automation, and container platforms (AKS, EKS, OpenShift).

Technology Governance & Standards :

- Establish and maintain infrastructure standards, patterns, and guardrails.

- Participate in architecture review boards (ARB) and approve infrastructure designs.

- Conduct gap analysis and recommend improvements to current infrastructure.

Security, Risk & Compliance :

- Work with Information Security and ITGRC teams to design secure infrastructure aligned with

- Zero Trust principles

- Data Privacy guidelines

- Regulatory requirements (RBI, PCI-DSS, SWIFT, etc.)

- Ensure solutions include appropriate controls for identity, access, logging, monitoring, and vulnerability management

Technology Evaluation & Innovation :

- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption paths.

- Drive modernization initiatives such as virtualization consolidation, infraascode, software-defined networking, and containerization

Qualification :

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

- Minimum 15 years of experience in IT industry

- Minimum 8 years of experience in Infrastructure/Architecture roles

Expertise in :

- Data Centers, Servers (Windows/Linux), Storage & Backup

- Virtualization (VMware, Nutanix AHV)

- Networking (LAN/WAN, SDN, VPN, ACI, Load Balancing, Firewalls)

- Cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) and hybrid architectures

- Containers & orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift)

- Automation (Terraform, Ansible, ARM/Bicep)

- Monitoring & Observability tools (Solarwinds, Dynatrace, VuNet)

- Certification in VMWare, Nutanix, CISCO
