Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Workday Payroll Functional Consultant to configure, implement, and optimize the Workday Payroll module within the Workday HCM ecosystem. The ideal candidate should have strong functional expertise in payroll configuration, payroll processing, compliance, testing, and integrations, along with the ability to translate business requirements into effective payroll solutions.

Responsibilities:

- Configure and maintain payroll components, including earnings, deductions, pay calculations, gross-to-net processing, and retroactive pay rules.

- Gather and analyze requirements from HR, Finance, and Payroll stakeholders and translate them into Workday Payroll configurations and workflows.

- Ensure payroll configurations align with applicable tax, statutory, and labor compliance requirements for the relevant geographies.

- Execute unit, parallel payroll, regression, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to validate payroll calculations and processing accuracy.

- Collaborate with technical teams to support integrations between Workday Payroll and time tracking, benefits, and general ledger systems.

- Troubleshoot payroll calculation discrepancies, resolve functional issues, and support payroll operations.

- Support Workday feature releases, assess their impact on existing configurations, and implement necessary updates.

- Maintain functional documentation, configuration records, test scenarios, and process guidelines.

- Work closely with cross-functional teams to improve payroll accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Requirements:

- 8 - 13 years of relevant experience in payroll systems implementation, configuration, or functional consulting.

- Strong hands-on experience with Workday Payroll configuration and functional processes.

- In-depth understanding of payroll components, gross-to-net calculations, deductions, retro pay, and payroll processing.

- Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into functional configurations.

- Strong experience in payroll testing, including parallel testing, regression testing, and UAT.

- Understanding of payroll compliance, taxation, and statutory requirements relevant to the supported geographies.

- Experience supporting integrations with time tracking, benefits, Finance, or general ledger systems.

- Experience troubleshooting payroll issues and supporting Workday feature releases.

- Strong stakeholder management, analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
