Position Name : Application Support Engineer (Jira & Enterprise Applications)
Position Summary :
We are seeking an Application Support Engineer who will primarily manage and administer Jira Service Management (JSM) and Jira Software projects, implement automation (native Jira Cloud and ScriptRunner), and provide support for other enterprise applications.
This role involves 60% Jira administration and automation and 40% application support and business interaction.
Responsibilities :
Jira Administration & Automation (60%) :
- Administer Jira Cloud and Jira Service Management projects: configure workflows, screens, custom fields, permissions, SLAs, incident management, queues, and request types.
- Manage user and group permissions, dashboards, and filters.
- Implement automation rules using native Jira Cloud Automation: parse email bodies to populate custom fields, trigger actions based on issue events.
- Develop advanced automation using ScriptRunner for Jira Cloud: write Jira Expressions or Groovy scripts for conditions, validators, and post-functions.
- Integrate Jira with other tools (Confluence, Azure DevOps) using REST APIs.
- Jira reporting and JQL.
- Perform upgrades, migrations (Cloud migration), and plugin compatibility checks.
JOB DESCRIPTION APPLICATION SUPPORT ENGINEER (JIRA & ENTERPRISE APPLICATIONS) :
Application Support (40%) :
- Communicate effectively with counterparties and internal users to resolve incidents.
- Ensure compliance with IT governance and security standards.
Required Skills & Experience :
- Strong experience with Jira Service Management and ITSM practices.
- Proficiency in Jira Automation (native rules) and ScriptRunner (Groovy/Jira Expressions).
- Hands-on experience with REST API integrations.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban boards).
- Basic knowledge of Linux/Windows environments and ability to learn new tools quickly.
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder and counterparty interaction.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve application issues under SLA constraints.
Nice to Have :
- Knowledge of financial services workflows and UCITS fund operations.
- Experience with DevOps tools (Git, Azure DevOps).
- Familiarity with Power BI for reporting and dashboards.
- SQL Fundamentals.
Soft Skills :
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Customer-focused mindset with attention to detail.

Working Hours : 10 AM to 7 PM UK-time (Note that UK time changes during summer.
