Senior SAP BW/HANA Lead

Role Overview :

We are seeking a seasoned SAP BW/HANA Lead to drive the design, development, and ongoing optimization of enterprise reporting and data warehousing solutions. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on expertise in SAP BW 7.5 on HANA, strong S/4HANA integration experience, and a proven track record supporting complex SAP upgrades.

This role will play a critical part in assessing and managing the impact of the S/4HANA 2021 to 2025 upgrade across BW data extraction, modelling, reporting, custom ABAP logic, and performance.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead the design, development, and enhancement of SAP BW 7.5 on HANA solutions.

- Develop and maintain BW objects, including ADSO, Composite Provider, InfoObjects, DTPs, and Transformations.

- Design, develop, and support Bex Queries and related reporting solutions.

- Build and maintain data extraction processes from SAP ECC, S/4HANA, and non-SAP systems.

- Work with ODP, SAPI, CDS Views, and standard and custom extractors.

- Develop, enhance, and troubleshoot ABAP Start, End, and Field routines.

- Design and support HANA Calculation Views where required.

- Monitor and resolve issues affecting BW data loads, process chains, transformations, and reporting.

- Perform BW performance tuning across data loads, queries, transformations, and HANA models.

- Analyse end-to-end source-to-report data flows to identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions.

- Provide technical guidance and review the work of BW developers and project team members.

S/4HANA Upgrade Impact Assessment :

- Lead the BW workstream for the S/4HANA 2021 to 2025 upgrade, ensuring that all affected data flows, models, routines, and reports are identified, assessed, and validated.

BW Upgrade and Production Support :

- Support SAP BW 7.5 on HANA upgrades, system refreshes, and related technical activities.

- Validate source-system connections, RFCs, Data Sources, transformations, DTPs, and process chains.

- Execute and support regression testing across data loads and reporting.

- Investigate and resolve post-upgrade data discrepancies and load failures.

- Support production cutover, hyper care, and post-upgrade stabilization.

Required Qualifications :

- 10 - 15 years of experience in SAP BW, with strong expertise in SAP BW 7.5 on HANA.

- Proven experience integrating BW with SAP ECC and S/4HANA.

- Strong hands-on knowledge of ADSO, Composite Provider, InfoObjects, DTPs, Transformations, Process Chains, and Bex Queries.

- Experience with ODP, SAPI, CDS Views, and standard/custom extractors.

- Strong ABAP development experience, including Start, End, and Field routines.

- Experience with HANA Calculation Views and SQL-based troubleshooting.

- Demonstrated experience with S/4HANA upgrade impact analysis.

- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.
