Skills required :
- Banking Regulations & Compliance : Knowledge of local and international banking regulations (e.g., RBI guidelines, Basel III, KYC/AML regulations, GST compliance) and how they impact business operations.
- Retail & Corporate Banking : Understanding of products and services offered by retail and corporate banking, including :
a. Savings Accounts, Loans, Fixed Deposits, Credit Cards, Mortgages, etc.
b. Corporate Lending, Treasury Management, Trade Finance, Risk Management, etc.
- Payment Systems : Familiarity with payment processing systems and protocols like RTGS, NEFT, IMPS, UPI, CBDC and digital wallets.
- FinTech & Digital Banking : Awareness of the latest trends in FinTech, digital banking transformation, and banking apps.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) : Understanding of KPIs specific to banking, such as Return on Assets (ROA), Net Interest Margin (NIM), Loan-to-Deposit Ratio (LDR), and others.
- Core Banking Systems (CBS) : Understanding of core banking software platforms (e.g., TCS Bancs, Finacle etc.) and their architecture.
- Data Analysis & Reporting : Proficiency in data analysis tools like Excel for generating actionable insights from banking data.
- The business analyst is expected to work closely with stakeholders such as department heads, end users, and upper management to understand their needs and document them clearly.
- Must be able to draft functional specifications, provide a detailed description of the systems functionality, expected outcomes, and technical requirements.
- Should have thorough knowledge in Data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel, SQL, and Tableau to gather and process data.
- Experience with Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN), UML diagrams, or tools like Visio, Lucidchart, etc.
- Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Trello).
- Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Effective Stakeholder Management and Communication to bridge the gap between business teams and IT departments and ensuring that technical solutions align with business needs.
- Business Analyst should work closely with the trusted QA vendor to define testing criteria and evaluate whether the application meets the specified requirements.
Job Profile (Detailed description of Role, Responsibilities and Functions) :
- Set up technical standards and governance structure for the enterprise.
- Create clear, concise, and comprehensive business requirement documents (BRD), use case scenarios, user stories, and functional specifications
- Collaborate with business stakeholders (e.g., executives, managers, product owners) to understand business goals, needs, and challenges.
- Create flowcharts, process diagrams, or data models to visualize and communicate processes.
- Analyze existing business processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, or areas of improvement.
Suggest process optimizations, system enhancements, or new technology solutions to improve business performance.
- Develop and present regular reports and dashboards to stakeholders, using data analysis to support recommendations for business improvement.
- Help ensure that business requirements are accurately captured and translated into functional and non-functional specifications for system development.
- Assist in user acceptance testing (UAT) to verify that the developed solutions meet business needs.
- Work with IT teams (e.g., developers, project managers, system architects) to design technology solutions based on business requirements.
- Provide regular updates to business stakeholders and project teams on progress, challenges, and results.
- Help the organization manage and adapt to changes, ensuring that stakeholders are onboard with process changes, technology solutions, and new workflows.
- Collect feedback from end-users and stakeholders to refine processes and systems continually.
Business Analyst Qualifications & Experience
Educational Qualifications :
The candidate must possess a BE/BTech degree in Computer Science, Computer Science & Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or Electronics & Communications Engineering (or an equivalent degree in a relevant discipline).
Alternatively, candidates with an MCA, MTech, or MSc in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Electronics & Communications Engineering are eligible.
In addition, candidates must hold an MBA in Information Technology, Finance, Operations, Marketing, Banking, or an equivalent degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized university or institute.
Mandatory Certifications (Any One Required) :
Candidates must possess at least one of the following certifications :
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
- Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA)
- PMI-PBA (Professional in Business Analysis)
- Certified Agile Business Analyst (CABA)
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)
- Certified Professional in Business Analysis (CPBA)
- Agile Business Analyst Certification
- Business Analytics Certification
Experience Requirements :
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Business Analysis after completion of undergraduate education.
- Out of the total experience, at least 2 years must be in the Banking or Financial Services sector
