Description : Senior Data Engineer / Data Platform Architect

A leading global hedge fund, is building out its next-generation enterprise data platform and is seeking a seasoned Senior Data Engineer / Data Platform Architect to lead this transformation.

This is a high-impact role responsible for architecting and delivering a modern Microsoft Fabric-based data ecosystem, supporting trading, risk, and investment analytics across the firm. The successful candidate will define the technical vision, establish best practices, and serve as a senior architectural authority within the data platform function.

The Opportunity :

- Own the end-to-end design of a cloud-native data platform (Microsoft Fabric, Lakehouse, OneLake).

- Architect scalable ingestion pipelines from SQL Server and other internal systems using CDC and incremental patterns.

- Design enterprise-grade data models, schemas, and Power BI semantic layers optimized for analytics and performance.

- Build dimensional models (star schemas, SCDs) to support trading, P&L, and financial reporting use cases.

- Establish governance, security, and data quality standards within a regulated financial environment.

- Partner directly with technology leadership and front-office stakeholders.

Ideal Profile :

- 10+ years of progressive experience in data engineering or enterprise data architecture.

- Deep expertise in SQL and data modelling, with proven experience designing robust analytical schemas.

- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric and Power BI semantic modelling.

- Experience handling financial and/or time-series datasets (trading, P&L, market data).

- Background in capital markets, hedge fund, or asset management environments preferred.

- Exposure to distributed processing frameworks (e.g., PySpark); Python knowledge is advantageous.

- Prior experience with Synapse or Databricks is beneficial.
