Job Description :

We are seeking an experienced Tandem Developer with strong expertise in HPE NonStop (Tandem) systems to develop, maintain, and enhance mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with TAL, COBOL, TACL, and NonStop database systems, especially in high-availability environments like banking or payments.

Key Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, and maintain applications on HPE NonStop (Tandem) systems

- Work with TAL / COBOL / TACL for application development and support

- Develop and support high-volume, high-availability transaction processing systems

- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions

- Perform debugging, performance tuning, and optimization of Tandem applications

- Manage and support production environments, including incident resolution

- Work on batch and real-time processing systems

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders

- Ensure system reliability, scalability, and security

Required Skills :

- Strong experience in : TAL (Transaction Application Language) COBOL (Tandem COBOL) TACL (Tandem Advanced Command Language)

- Hands-on experience with the following : Enscribe / SQL/MP / SQL/MX databases Pathway / TMF (Transaction Monitoring Facility)

- Knowledge of Guardian OS architecture

- Experience in production support and incident management

- Understanding of batch processing and online transaction systems

- Familiarity with file systems, spooler, and process management in Tandem

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience in banking, payments, cards, or financial systems

- Knowledge of ISO8583 messaging (for payments domain)

- Exposure to Base24 / payment switch systems

- Experience with integration to modern systems (APIs, middleware)

- Basic understanding of distributed systems or cloud integration
