Job Description: Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O - Solution Architect

Role Overview

The D365 F&O Solution Architect is responsible for the overall solution design, architecture, governance, and successful delivery of Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations implementations. The role focuses on transforming complex business requirements into scalable, secure, future-ready solution architectures.

The architect collaborates closely with business SMEs, technical leads, functional teams, and leadership to ensure the solution is aligned with business goals, program governance, best practices, and Microsoft's Success by Design principles.

Key Responsibilities :

1. End-to-End Solution Architecture Ownership :

Lead the design, implementation, and deployment of a comprehensive Dynamics 365 F&O solution aligned with organizational processes across Finance, SCM, Manufacturing, Warehouse, and integrations.

Define the architectural blueprint covering :

- Functional architecture

- Technical architecture

- Integration patterns

- Data flows

- Security & Compliance

- Cross-module dependency mapping.

2. Requirement Gathering & Solution Design :

- Conduct high-level and detailed workshops with stakeholders to translate business needs into architectural components.

- Perform detailed Fit-Gap Analysis, create solution options, propose best- practice configurations, and lead decision-making on customizations.

3. Integration & Technical Governance :

Design integration architecture using :

- Azure Integration Services

- Logic Apps

- APIs and data entities

- Third-party systems

- Ensure integration scalability, data consistency, secure authentication, and environment governance in alignment with LCS and Azure DevOps practices.

4. Environment, Deployment & DevOps Oversight :

- Guide teams on ALM: branching strategy, CI/CD setup, deploy pipelines, code review governance, and solution layering.

- Ensure readiness of the technical landscape during initiation - UAT - Go- Live - Hypercare phases.

5. Solution Governance & Compliance :

Ensure adherence to :

- Microsoft Success by Design

- Enterprise architecture standards

- Compliance, audit, traceability

- Documentation governance

- Lead risk identification, mitigation planning, and scope control.

6. Leadership, Collaboration & Stakeholder Management :

- Act as the primary architectural authority bridging customer, business SMEs, functional teams, and developers.

- Drive alignment with client expectations, manage escalations, and provide strategic direction.

7. Quality Assurance & Delivery Excellence :

- Oversee functional and technical design reviews, solution walkthroughs, test strategy, and defect triage.

- Ensure non- functional requirements (performance, security, scalability) are embedded into the solution.

8. User Training, Change Enablement & Adoption Support :

- Support Train- the- Trainer, change impact evaluation, process adoption, and post- go-live stabilization.

Required Skills & Experience :

Technical & Functional Expertise :

8-15+ years working across ERP platforms with deep expertise in D365 F&O across multiple modules (minimum 2) :

- Finance

- Supply Chain

- Manufacturing

- Warehouse

- Maintenance

- Experience designing enterprise- grade architectures involving integrations, data migration, security models, and Azure services.

- Strong command over solutioning in multi- country, multi- legal entity, multi- language deployments.

Implementation Experience :

- 4+ full life- cycle implementations as Solution Architect or Lead Consultant.

- Proven experience in pre- sales, proposal creation, solution blueprinting, and functional oversight.

Platform Knowledge :

- Azure DevOps, LCS, RSAT, Power Platform, Data Management Framework.

Soft Skills :

- Excellent communication, story- telling, stakeholder management, conflict resolution, and leadership.

- Ability to guide cross- functional teams and influence executive decisions.
