Role Overview :
The Project Manager will own the end-to-end delivery of client implementations and internal initiatives on the organizations in-house Learning Management System (LMS), primarily built on Open edX.
This role is highly client-facing and technology-driven, requiring strong ownership of project delivery across engineering, product, sales, and business teams.
The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while driving exceptional client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities :
Client & Stakeholder Management :
- Act as the primary point of contact for B2B clients throughout the project lifecycle, from onboarding to go-live and post-launch stabilization
- Build and manage strong relationships with client stakeholders including business owners, IT teams, and leadership
- Lead client-facing status meetings, steering committee calls, workshops, demos, and executive presentations
- Manage client expectations by clearly defining scope, timelines, deliverables, dependencies, and success criteria
- Own requirements gathering and discovery sessions; translate business requirements into clear functional and technical specifications
- Handle scope change requests, effort estimation, impact analysis, and commercial discussions in coordination with business teams
Project Delivery & Execution :
- Lead end-to-end project planning, execution, monitoring, control, and closure for Open edX and LMS-based implementations
- Create detailed project plans including milestones, sprint plans, resource allocation, risk registers, and communication plans
- Manage multiple parallel client projects and internal initiatives with competing priorities
- Track project budgets, costs, utilization, and margins to ensure financial targets are achieved
- Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies across technology, people, and timelines
- Ensure adherence to delivery standards, quality benchmarks, and internal governance processes
Cross-Functional Collaboration :
- Work closely with engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility, accurate estimations, and timely delivery
- Collaborate with product management to align client requirements with product roadmap and platform capabilities
- Support sales and pre-sales teams with solution scoping, timelines, effort estimation, and client presentations
- Coordinate with business, finance, and legal teams on contracts, SOWs, billing milestones, and commercials
- Act as a single point of coordination to remove blockers and ensure smooth collaboration across all teams
Agile & Delivery Management :
- Drive agile project execution using Scrum or hybrid delivery models
- Facilitate agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
- Maintain and prioritize product and project backlogs in alignment with client goals and business priorities
- Track sprint velocity, burn-down charts, capacity, and delivery predictability
- Coach teams and stakeholders on agile best practices and continuous improvement
Reporting & Documentation :
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation including BRDs, FRDs, technical specs, project plans, risk logs, and change logs
- Provide weekly and monthly status reports to internal leadership and client stakeholders
- Track and report KPIs related to delivery timelines, budget, quality, risks, and client satisfaction
- Ensure all project artifacts are maintained in project management and documentation tools
- Capture lessons learned and contribute to process optimization and delivery excellence
Required Qualifications :
Experience :
- 5+ years of project management experience in technology, SaaS, or software development environments
- Proven experience delivering complex, client-facing technical projects end-to-end
- Strong background in managing B2B enterprise clients and senior stakeholders
- Experience working with distributed or remote engineering and product teams
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with high accountability
Core Skills :
- Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Proven negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- High attention to detail, ownership mindset, and ability to thrive in fast-paced environments
Education :
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline
- Equivalent professional experience will be considered
Preferred Qualifications :
- Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM) or equivalent
- PMP, PRINCE2, or other recognized project management certifications
- Prior experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or EdTech platforms
- Hands-on exposure to Open edX implementations
- Experience with LMS integrations such as SAML, OAuth, LTI, xAPI, and SCORM
- Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps practices
- Experience using project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Asana, Monday.com, or MS Project
- Exposure to technical pre-sales or solution design discussions
Technical Knowledge (Good to Have) :
- Understanding of REST APIs, web services, and third-party system integrations
- Familiarity with deployment pipelines, CI/CD processes, and version control systems (Git)
- Basic understanding of databases, data migration, and reporting frameworks
- Awareness of security, privacy, and compliance standards relevant to EdTech platforms
