About the Role:
We are looking for a hyper-intuitive, data-driven Product Designer to shape the B2C consumer app journey and internal dark store operational tools at Homerun.
Quick Commerce UI/UX is fundamentally different from traditional e-commerce. A typical Q-Commerce basket contains 12 to 18 unique SKUs, re-order frequency is measured in days rather than months, and checkout velocity requires zero-friction navigation under 30 seconds. In this role, you will take full end-to-end design ownership - from micro-interactions, fast cart building, dynamic multi-item search, and checkout funnels to internal dark store picker/rider application UX.
Key Responsibilities:
1. High-Frequency B2C Consumer UX & Cart Optimization:
- Design intuitive, high-speed mobile UX for complex consumer journeys: multi-item search, hyper-fast category discovery, instant cart additions, and 1-tap checkout.
- Solve unique Q-Commerce UX constraints: high-density cart visualization (15+ SKUs), out-of-stock substitution nudges, real-time item availability states, and ETA countdown tracking.
- Build dynamic visual merchandising layouts, micro-animations, and personalized homepage discovery modules to lift menu-to-cart (M2C) conversion and AOV.
2. Design System Ownership & Scalability:
- Own, scale, and evolve Homerun's cross-platform Design System (iOS, Android, Mobile Web) in Figma.
- Ensure strict visual consistency, interaction standards, typography, accessibility compliance, and component reusable logic across consumer and internal apps.
- Collaborate closely with Frontend and Mobile Engineers (React Native / Android / iOS) to guarantee pixel-perfect execution and high-performance design component delivery.
3. Dark Store & Operational App UX (Supply & Fulfillment):
- Design frictionless, zero-error UX for operational tools: dark store picker handheld apps (batch-picking workflows), store admin inventory auditing interfaces, and rider delivery apps.
- Conduct ground-level contextual research inside dark stores to optimize UI layouts for extreme speed, low latency, and high-volume order packing under physical pressure.
4. User Research, Usability Testing & Funnel Iteration:
- Conduct field user research, usability testing, cohort interviews, and observational studies to validate assumptions and uncover micro-friction in consumer funnels.
- Partner with Product Managers and Data Analysts to leverage Amplitude, Mixpanel, and Hotjar telemetry to iterate designs based on quantitative CVR data and drop-off metrics.
Requirements & Candidate Profile:
- Experience: 5 - 7 years of total experience in UI/UX and Product Design, with a strong portfolio showcasing mobile-first B2C consumer applications. At least 2+ years of direct experience in pure-play Quick Commerce.
- Portfolio Requirement: A battle-tested portfolio demonstrating end-to-end design frameworks, user flows, Figma component systems, interactive prototypes, micro-interactions, and real business impact (e.g., lift in CVR, reduction in picking TAT).
- Mastery of Tools: Advanced expertise in Figma, Framer, Protopie/Principle, Sketch, and usability testing frameworks.
- Cross-Functional Influence: Strong storytelling capability to articulate design decisions to Product Managers, Engineering Leads, and Founders.
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design (B.Des / M.Des / HCI) from a Tier-1 institute (NID, IIT IDC, Srishti, DoD, or international equivalent).
