As we grow, we're looking for a Principal Engineer who can architect systems, raise engineering standards, and partner closely with Product & Leadership to shape the company's technical future.

This is a hands-on leadership role high ownership, high impact.

What You'll Do :

Architecture & Technical Leadership :

- Design and own scalable, secure, and high-performance systems using Ruby on Rails (backend) and modern frontend frameworks (React or similar).

- Architect cloud-native infrastructure on AWS (or other major cloud platforms) including services such as EC2, EKS, RDS, SQS/SNS, etc.

- Drive system design for high-availability, distributed systems and data-heavy applications.

- Lead major technical decisions and define the long-term engineering roadmap.

Hands On Engineering :

- Contribute significantly to production code across backend and frontend.

- Review code, improve engineering standards, and enforce best practices.

- Optimize performance, reliability, and scalability across the stack.

- Improve CI/CD pipelines, observability, testing, and DevOps practices.

Mentorship & Team Enablement :

- Mentor senior and mid-level engineers.

- Elevate code quality, design thinking, and system ownership culture.

- Influence hiring, technical interviews, and team structuring.

Cross Functional Collaboration :

- Partner with Product, Design, and Business teams to translate ambiguous requirements into scalable technical solutions.

- Balance speed with long-term architecture in a startup environment.

What We're Looking For :

- 10+ years of software engineering experience with strong system design expertise.

- Deep expertise in Ruby on Rails in production-scale environments.

- Experience working with modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, Angular, or similar).

- Solid hands-on experience with AWS or other major cloud platforms, including architecture, scaling, and cost optimization.

- Experience designing microservices/service-oriented architectures.

- Strong understanding of databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL), caching (Redis) and messaging systems.

- Proven ability to lead large technical initiatives end-to-end.

- Startup experience preferred (0 - 1 or scaling from 1-10 stage is a big plus).
