Role Overview :

We are seeking highly experienced Lead-level GCP Platform Engineers to build and scale a new platform engineering team in Chennai. This role requires deep expertise in designing, configuring, and managing core GCP services, with a strong focus on platform architecture, performance, scalability, and reliability. Candidates must have hands-on experience in architecting GCP platforms and a strong understanding of configuration-level controls, strictly within platform engineering (not DevOps, SRE, or development backgrounds).

Responsibilities :

- Design, implement, and manage scalable and secure GCP-based platform architectures.

- Configure and optimize core GCP services including Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Dataproc, and Cloud Composer.

- Develop and manage infrastructure as code using Terraform.

- Define and enforce best practices for GCP platform configuration, performance tuning, and cost optimization.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enable data and application workloads on GCP platforms.

- Implement and manage networking components including VPC and Cloud DNS.

- Ensure platform security, compliance, and governance aligned with GCP best practices.

- Set up and manage monitoring, logging, and observability using Google Cloud Monitoring and Logging.

- Lead platform design discussions and provide technical guidance to engineering teams.

- Troubleshoot complex platform issues and ensure high availability and reliability of services.

Required Skills (Must Haves) :

- 10+ years of experience in cloud/platform engineering with strong focus on GCP.

- Expert-level hands-on experience with :

a. Compute Engine

b. Cloud Storage

c. Dataproc

d. Cloud Composer

e. Terraform

Additional Preferred Skills :

- Networking : VPC, Cloud DNS

- Security best practices in GCP

- GKE Administration (strong advantage)

- Monitoring & Observability : Google Cloud Monitoring and Logging
