Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced SQL Server DBA who can support critical database environments. The role involves proactive database maintenance, ensuring system stability, handling escalations, and supporting releases. The candidate will play a key role in maintaining performance, availability, and security of SQL Server databases in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities :

- Perform proactive database maintenance, monitoring, and health checks

- Manage SQL Server patching, upgrades, and release support

- Provide escalation support and on-call backup when required

- Monitor database performance and implement performance tuning strategies

- Ensure database backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes are in place

- Troubleshoot production issues and provide quick resolution

- Maintain high availability and reliability of database systems

- Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams for deployments and issue resolution

Required Skills :

- 7+ years of experience as a SQL Server DBA

- Strong expertise in SQL Server administration (2012/2016/2019/2022)

- Hands-on experience in performance tuning and query optimization

- Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning

- Knowledge of High Availability solutions (Always On, Clustering, Mirroring)

- Experience in patching, upgrades, and release management

- Strong troubleshooting and incident management skills

- Ability to work in night shifts and provide on-call support

Good to Have :

- Experience with cloud-based databases (AWS RDS / Azure SQL)

- Knowledge of automation and scripting (PowerShell, T-SQL)

- Familiarity with monitoring tools (SQL Profiler, Extended Events, etc.)

- Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD processes
