Power BI Test Lead - qTest

About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced Power BI Test Data Lead to drive the design, development, and optimization of test-related dashboards and reporting systems. This role combines strong data visualization skills with a deep understanding of test management toolsespecially qTestand experience leading QA reporting initiatives in complex enterprise environments.

As the Test Data Lead, you will collaborate with QA teams, test managers, and stakeholders to deliver real-time visibility into testing metrics, ensuring data accuracy, usability, and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities :

- Create intuitive visualizations that track test execution, defect density, pass/fail trends, test coverage, and release readiness.

- Extract, transform, and load data (ETL) from qTest, JIRA, Excel, and other data sources to generate actionable insights.

- Apply advanced Power BI features such as DAX, Power Query, drill-throughs, filters, bookmarks, and paginated reports.

- Act as the primary point of contact for all QA reporting and data needs.

- Define and implement best practices for data quality, test data consistency, and dashboard standardization across teams.

- Automate data refreshes and scheduled report distributions to ensure up-to-date and reliable reporting.

- Lead reporting initiatives and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with project goals and test objectives.

- Partner with Test Managers, QA Engineers, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and transform them into technical reporting solutions.

- Analyze large volumes of test data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for test optimization.

- Collaborate with IT teams to resolve data integration, transformation, and connectivity issues between qTest and reporting tools.

- Stay current with the latest features and enhancements in Power BI, qTest, and other BI tools.

- Provide training and documentation to QA team members on interpreting test dashboards and utilizing the data effectively.

- Support audit and compliance reporting by ensuring historical data traceability and accuracy.

Must-Have Skills :

- Hands-on experience working with qTest or similar test management tools.

- Test lead experience : Proven track record of leading QA reporting efforts and managing test data in enterprise-scale projects.

- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills to translate raw data into meaningful QA metrics.

- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
